They tried to pretend that misidentifying the guy's race was merely a background factual error, and nobody should let them (and her) go on it: The guy's race, or rather their perception of his race, was the lynchpin of the entire premise of the article.

You can't write a "don't fall in love with another mediocre white coach" piece and then when you find out the young coach isn't white go "We incorrectly identified the race of the subject, we regret the error but stand by the rest of our reporting".

She should be upset at Biden for undercutting his own nominee before he actually names him/her. He's now the one who forces one to consider whether the person is actually the best candidate or the best candidate in that category. I'd be pissed if I were that nominee.

If he'd just shut up and nominated a black woman, if that was his goal, this entire analysis would not even be taking place.

I have no doubt there is a qualified candidate that is a black woman but now he's already put a mark on the eventual choice for no reason other than his own politcal gain within his own party.
