He has the same agent as Poles...hmmm.

...And that agent is Trace Armstrong, who has been rumored to be a candidate for a Bears exec position. Hmmmm indeed.

He's also Nagy's agent.

Why would Armstrong take a exec position with the Bears? He's probably making more money off these commissions.

It would definitely be a paycut.

I can't remember where I saw this, but someone was reporting that Omar Khan was brought in to interview for team president (or something similar), not GM, in anticipation of Ted Phillips' retirement. Is Armstrong also interested in and under consideration for this position? Was Trace Armstrong consulted for the Poles/Eberflus hires?

Maybe he wants to run a team? He would seem to be a great candidate for team president.

He and Mack will get along great, lol. Good thing Hicks is gone. Eddie Jackson better watch out.

So we've gone from a glorified life coach to a hustle dork as our head coach?

I think it is safe to say that he must have some exclusive deal with ownership.

All of those guys played really hard under Fangio. There was a dropoff under Pagano and DeSigh.

That's how I felt about Dick Jauron....he was "fun bad".
Then again.....I still maintain he got a very high level of performance out of some really shitty rosters.

Jauron was the guy that broke the season into four quarters of four games each right? This seventeen game schedule would be a tough one for his Ivy League Education to classify.

I'm beginning to wonder how flexible Eberflus actually is as a coach.

It sounds like he started blitzing more frequently and using man-to-man coverage in 2021 only because his defense was failing and Reich, Ballard et al told him his scheme had to change.

That's not fair to Hicks. That guy gave it 100% almost every play he was on the field for. He was hurt more after Fangio left, but I wouldn't say he loafed over the last 2-3 seasons.

Jackson, on the other hand, got his money and stopped giving a shit.

Hicks certainly didn't run plays out under Pagano and Desai like he did under Fangio. Not that this ultimately made a difference in the fortunes of the defense.

I wholeheartedly disagree. The Bears have had a number of problems over the last 2-3 seasons, but Hicks giving low effort shouldn't be on the list. If it is, there are at least 500 other things that are more worrisome.

yeah I am with Frank on this one.

So TM you have seen a difference in how Hicks plays from Fangio to other coaches? I havent really noticed that. He appears to be a guy who has played his ass off for most of his Bears career. I am sure he takes a play off now and then, but the majority of the time he gives the appearance of going hard.

Now Jackson on the other hand does not. He needs to get it in gear or find a new team. He has been really disappointing.

Reread my post above. I'm saying that Hicks' slacking on some plays was seemingly inconsequential. Nevertheless, it's the kind of thing that rubs the Tampa 2 guys the wrong way (and possibly Fangio as well).

I think Hicks is a giant man that takes breaks on the sideline. I do not this he takes plays off. There is a difference.

I love Hicks; he's been a great player. I just don't think he's hustled to the ball as much on downfield plays as he once did. I don't think this habit impacted the defense much if at all.

I don't think he takes plays off near the line of scrimmage. But I also don't think he's been running to the ball the way the Lovie guys demand.

I think Eddie Jackson is going to be rejuvinated.

Eberflus says the three most important positions on his defense:

3 tech
weakside LB
slot

The bears only have one of those positions covered

Question for ya...I'm confused on what regular technique and a three technique lineman is, I'd like you to explain it to me if ya could...

You need a Tommie Harris, Lance Briggs, and Mike Brown
