So you are conceding that Love is going to suck?

No. Anyone who thinks they know if Love is good or sucks right now is spouting nonsense.

I knew Love sucked in college, many others did also

He probably sucks but his college play is irrelevant. Josh Allen was a terrible college QB

You don’t know what you’re talking about in this regard. You’re spouting talking points without any actual analysis. Like FF said the cap is a joke. Sure they will have to waive a few “name” players but that doesn’t necessarily change the core of the team. I don’t want to see Za Darius Smith leave but they went 13-3 without him. There will be a few others in that category. If Rodgers stays they will extend him and sign Adams to a cap friendly contract as well. Other key players will get extended and the team will look essentially the same for the next 2 years. At some point it will crash but the 2022 cap won’t be the reason.

I still don't think he is going to suck if he is ever given the job. He needs to run the actual offense and not the hybrid one that Rodgers has run. Rodgers would manipulate the defense, the route and or the look of the play to get the matchup he wanted. It works for him most of the time but not always as everyone saw last week. Love can not do that and until Rodgers is gone and the get the offense back to being based on the scheme and play call then he nor the rest of the players are going to have an efficient and effective offense.

The kid can move, make all the throws and read the field. They are working heavily on his footwork right now and he might just be good if ever given the chance.

You guys are nuts, Put Goff or (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky or Dalton on thatvteam and they go 7-10 this year.. Love/ 4-13 maybev5-12. Rodgers covers up alot of blemishes, more than you know.. so you will have Love or some buster at QB and cap problems.. terrible foreseeable future.

They can make it work if they want. I don't know if they want to though. Top heavy is never really conducive to winning championships.

Make it work means adding years on compounding a problem.

This post is completely nonsensical. Zippy and I already educated you on the cap thing. Outside of that, no team in the NFL has a “terrible forseeable future” unless they are incompetent at in their ownership and front office and the Packers are very clearly not bad there. I would fuckin love to have Fields but literally everything outside of him (who wasnt good this year), everything still says GB > Chicago going forward organization wise.

There it is. You'll be in midseason form about how good the Packers are before the draft!

I think Rodgers will be back but if he isn't...... I think Denver is probably the spot.

If they actually have to make that trade I want them to get Seattle involved.

Rodgers to Denver
2 1st round picks from Denver and Jordan Love to Seattle
Russ and a 2nd from Denver to GB

Tweak some day 2 or 3 picks if needed but that should in theory work out for everyone if the are all down to trade. The money should work with GB and allow for them to extend Russ and then sign Adams.

2022 GB Packers with Aaron Rodgers
- Win NFC North Easily and once again will be competitive in playoffs, but not a favorite to go to Super bowl

2022 GB Packers without Aaron Rodgers
- I'd still call them a favorite to win the NFC North but they'll have to find themselves a competent game manager QB. First round exit from playoffs. They are much worse without Aaron Rodgers and he does cover a lot of mediocrity, but holy shit the Bears and Vikings suck. The Lions will be interesting to watch and see if they've figured shit out.

I think Rodgers is back. The only really good option for HIM is 49ers and if I'm the Packers....it's AFC or nothing. I don't see an AFC team he elevates to automatic super bowl contention. It's basically a wash like staying in Green Bay.

Will another team give up a lot of capital for an aging quarterback who doesn't know if he wants to continue playing and chokes in the postseason?

Didn't Denver hire Hackett with the idea that they will be acquiring Rodgers?

I believe Denver had the best scoring defense in the NFL last year under Fangio.

They would seem to be well positioned to challenge KC with Rodgers, Hackett and a Fangio disciple running their defense.

It sounds like Rodgers is a free agent after next season too if he wants to be. That's going to hurt the price Green Bay gets.

Yep I think Denver would be the best place for him. THey have some good offensive pieces to go around Rodgers too.

Whatever he does, it would be really nice if he decided before the draft.

He said he will have made a decision before the Franchise tag deadline so they know what they are doing with Adams. Lebron Rodgers will announcing it on his barstool podcast thing. I believe they have to wait until the new league year in June to do it though or it will cost them another 10 or so mil on the cap. That makes for an awkward timeline. They would almost have to make a trade with Denver or whomever for the Rodgers return before the draft and then trade him after it get around the cap stuff. It would be like 2 1sts for a 2023 7th and then a month later Rodgers for that 2023 7th back. That is way too complicated. He will go on Mcafee and announce his return.

This post is completely nonsensical. Zippy and I already educated you on the cap thing. Nah. It's not saying a whole lot to be better than the Bears who are one of the most dysfunctional franchises in the league. I don't have much hope for 2022 but I also don't agree with this fantasy Bears fans have that the team will be terrible for the next decade.

Id pick GB to finish last in the division minus Rodgers.

Jordan Love at QB....maybe. They wouldn't do that though. They could upgrade and still beat the Bears and Vikings.

I hate the Packers too, but let's not fool ourselves.

Too much self hate. We saw what the Packers looked like with an injured and disinterested Rodgers in 2017 and 2018. They'll look worse than that with Love.

Mostly yes, but if you trade for him you’re conceding that his act will indeed be tolerated. No way you give up all those assets and then nope out on him.

I suspect they'll give him a restructured $200M deal to return and give Adams a deal for about $150M. Not sure what the rest of the Packers team will look like. It probably makes more sense to trade him, but LeFleur and Packers Nation would likely kill themselves.

That's all well and good, but then he jumps on the Pat McAfee show after a tough loss in week 5 and starts ripping people just because. That's what I mean by his act not being tolerated.

I suspect they'll give him a restructured $200M deal to return and give Adams a deal for about $150M. Not sure what the rest of the Packers team will look like. It probably makes more sense to trade him, but LeFleur and Packers Nation would likely kill themselves.

You're all over the place on this

Talk about denial

Right, but what does not tolerated even mean if they’re not going to bench him? A stern talking to?

His best bet is probably to say in Green Bay. There is not much pressure to win, and he can't act like a jag and get what he wants because he's been allowed to do so and sort of earned it for years now.

He goes elsewhere and the pressure to win ramps up 10 fold, and his act may not be tolerated by different coaches/owners.

Mostly yes, but if you trade for him you’re conceding that his act will indeed be tolerated. No way you give up all those assets and then nope out on him.
That's all well and good, but then he jumps on the Pat McAfee show after a tough loss in week 5 and starts ripping people just because. That's what I mean by his act not being tolerated.
