This post is completely nonsensical. Zippy and I already educated you on the cap thing. Outside of that, no team in the NFL has a “terrible forseeable future” unless they are incompetent at in their ownership and front office and the Packers are very clearly not bad there. I would fuckin love to have Fields but literally everything outside of him (who wasnt good this year), everything still says GB > Chicago going forward organization wise.
There it is. You'll be in midseason form about how good the Packers are before the draft!

Nah. It's not saying a whole lot to be better than the Bears who are one of the most dysfunctional franchises in the league. I don't have much hope for 2022 but I also don't agree with this fantasy Bears fans have that the team will be terrible for the next decade.

So this goes back to the idea that Aaron Rodgers is great, and the Packers organization is stocked with great talent, and the management is great, but somehow they blow it every year in the playoffs.

I get that you can't really ever be objective about the Packers but pretty much every year you describe them as basically being the Brady Patriots teams whenever anyone says anything negative about anyone in the organization.

The Packers have put together some really good teams and have drafted a lot of talent but the mix is never just right. If its not the defense its special teams or its Rodgers panicking and forcing things instead of taking what the defense is giving him. They have rebuilt the entire roster from Rodgers Super Bowl win to this current team. Aside from the WR position they have good players on the roster that should be around and good for the next 5 years and they will continue to cycle new players in as they have done for years. The Defense they have built should be able to keep them in games and with a few tweaks the running game could be the focal point if need be. If Rodgers is gone they will look different but they should be ok. This is a much better overall roster than when Rodgers was hurt those 2 years. TT bombed alot of drafts. Gute has been really good with only the Love pick being a failure to this point. Gary, Jaire and Stokes are all legit picks.

TT 10-8 in playoffs, one SB win
Gute 2-3 in playoffs

So, the options seem to be:
LaFleur is a terrible coach and is being propped up by talent.
Aaron Rodgers isn't as good as most people think and is being propped up by talent.
Just bad luck every year.

Packers fans have lost their collective minds, a very rude awakening awaits you soon. Without Rodgers this team is Detroit level garbage.

Special Teams is a shit pile and has been for a decade and there is no excuse for it
MLF is a good coach and his scheme works
Rodgers is a Hall of Fame QB who is good enough to not follow the scheme and still experience success most of the time
The defense was good in 2010, went to shit until TT left and is now finally pretty good again.

This years team was good enough to still be playing. They fucked it up last week with Rodgers completely straying from the offensive scheme and the special teams dumpster special.

If the Packers go all in and get Adams and Rodgers back then yes in a few years they will be terrible for a while because they will have exhausted all resources on 2 players that will eventually not be on the team. If they move on they will be fine once the get comfortable in their new suit.

Interestingly, the Pack had a better DVOA ranking in 2020 than in 2021. Maybe this was due to injury, maybe not. Whatever the case, they still haven't figured out how to stop the run, which has been a problem since LaFleur was hired.

Also, I'm no less objective than you when it comes to Green Bay. I like them, you don't like them. Don't pretend you're able to view them more objectively.

I don't know if I'm objective or not but I'm not the one acting like the Packers are a great organization filled with talent, coaching, and front office superstars who also have a HOF QB but they can't find a way to do anything worthwhile in the playoffs. Something just doesn't add up.

It hasn't even been a week and it's already back to the idea that the Packers are a great organization.

The Packers are a good organization. You don't win 40 games in a 3 year span without being one. That's objectively true. They've choked in the playoffs, as umn said, it seems to be for a different reason every year.

And if you don't know if you are objective or not then ask somebody, because it's obvious that you aren't. You're a Bears fan who hates the Packers and every post you ever make them shows this lack of objectivity. Case in point: you're acting like a playoff loss invalidates all of the regular season success they had and therefore they are not a good team or organization because they lost a playoff game by 3 points.

It does when it happens every year. I can be 100% sure you view the Bears last playoff team similarly that lost spectacularly in the playoffs.

There is a clear trend for the Packers in that they are somehow an elite team in October and November and far from it as soon as the playoffs come around. There has to be a reason for it besides it being bad luck.

  They have only lost by 8 combined points their last two playoff games! What a great run we've had!

GTFO with that nonsense.

If the goal is 10, 11, or 12 wins and division championships, sure it was another banner year for the Packers. Well done.

If the goal is to win the Super Bowl-- something that Green Bay has had a leg up on vs 90+% of other NFL teams over the last ten years or so because of their quarterback-- they've done no better than the Bears, Browns, Lions or Jaguars over that span.

Thank you for exactly proving my point. Because the Packers lost their last two playoff games by a combined 8 points, you think it's fair to compare them to the Lions. That's such an idiiotic thought I don't know how to respond except to laugh.

Last year they were the 2nd best team in the NFL even in the postseason, so I don't think what you're saying makes sense.

How were they not? They were among the final four teams, they lost by 5 to TB, KC lost by 22 to TB. What's the argument that KC was better?

Right, because clearly I said "lol Packers = Lions" without any qualifiers.

Is the goal for the Packers to win the division, or win the Super Bowl?

One they have done exceedingly well over the last decade. The other, not so much.

When you have multiple HoF quarterbacks for 30 years, you have to be excited about winning your division, and then repeatedly losing at home in the playoffs. #SUCCESS

Last year they were the 2nd best team in the NFL even in the postseason, so I don't think what you're saying makes sense.

By what metric?

How were they not? They were among the final four teams, they lost by 5 to TB, KC lost by 22 to TB. What's the argument that KC was better?

They didn't play in the SB? At full strength, they lost at home?

When you have multiple HoF quarterbacks for 30 years, you have to be excited about winning your division, and then repeatedly losing at home in the playoffs. #SUCCESS
Favre wasn't perfect and you can point and laugh at his INTs if you want. The fact is he got to the big dance twice. Won it all, and took his team back the following season. Stats be dammed, that will always rank him ahead of Rodgers IMO. This changes if Rodgers makes another SB with Green Bay, but that seems highly unlikely.

As a defending champion, Rodgers went 15-1 and laid an egg- the first of many- in the playoffs.

Rodgers was going to his 2nd Super Bowl until that tub of shit dumbfuck McCarthy lost them the game in Seattle. That game was over until they gave it back to them.
