Normally my favorite. Maybe I’m getting soft but this year it seems a little heavy. It’s also very easy to find, so I’m wondering if something changed with Bells.

Larry Bell, the Bell's founder, retired and sold the brewery in November.

Fucking Japs. Next thing you know I won’t be able to bring my young children into their brewpub.

When once hard to get beers show up in the local Fareway or Sullivan's grocery store I tend to be a little skeptical about how hard they are to find. Hopslam has been appearing for about 3 years now I think. Kind of like the basic Goose Island Bourbon stout.

Good point. I used to drive around trying to find a 6er. Now it’s in bulk at Costco.

Isn’t that part of the reason small guys sell? To improve margins on their products and to increase the supply chain so they can get to more places?

Hopslam used to be such a treat because it was different and impossible to find. Now it's sitting on an end cap in Jewel. It was good but man I miss the old days of the challenge of trying to find this beer.

They didnt have Blue Moon so my lady friend picked up Sappro Beer.

I really liked it. It's not bitter at all and somewhat sweet. Goes down smooth and light.

Any other beers that are similar to this? I like it very much more than Blue Moon.

To each their own, but IMO Hopslam is not good enough to drive all over God's country trying to find it. Even if it was novel being scarce. It's a good beer don't get me wrong, it's just not that good.

Zombie Dust was kind of like that back in the day, now you can get a six pack of cans at Woodman's. Fistmas was everywhere...even Aldi's this year.

Fistmas is a little different I think because that's a seasonal beer. It's not available year round like Zombie Dust or Hopslam.

Begging the Colonel's pardon, but I believe Hopslam is released in January every year and has (used to at least) have a limited availability which I believe would make it seasonal.

I do like Hopslam, but I usually hold out until I find it on tap somewhere...I just like it better that way

Same, I generally enjoy most beers from a tap vs. can/bottle...EXCEPT Hamm's....

I drank the shit out of tap Hamms at Elk Grove Bowl last week...it was fine. Good clean lines help, though.

Zombie Dust hasn't pushed this far west. Maybe if I shopped over to the east a bit it would, Im just assuming that they've upped production of a lot of these formerly limited beers or people have moved on so to keep consumption even they widened the foot print or release.

Zombie Dust is a good comp, in that I’d be genuinely surprised if somebody had it and would reflexively order it even though I don’t like it that much.

Now it’s everywhere.

I don't think any beer is worth driving all over God's Country to find, at least at this point in my life. Maybe 30 years ago? There are lots of great beers out there so if you can't find one you're looking for, chances are great there is an equivalent one near to you.

I lived there for 6 months back in the mid 90s. Don’t need CC’s tips.

Singha is pretty mild. Brother in law is a fan and had a customer up in Wisconsin give him a bunch so he passed out some at a family get together. Nice change of pace.

Haven't had one in quite a long time. It's a good hot weather beer.

Really enjoying Leinenkugel’s Sunshine Light Lager. I wish they made it all year long.

Potosi's beers are remarkably average. I never found one I loved.

Have had Snake Hollow, Good Old Potosi and their Coffee Stout. Stout was th best of the three,
