“But now that I am starting off the season as a starting quarterback, I think I’ll be more comfortable playing that leader role. There’s no more, ‘Oh, he’s a rookie, this and that.’ It’s time now, so I’m excited … and I can’t wait to get to work.”

He does come off as immature and shallow in the above quote, but none of this will matter if he plays well. If he doesn't, then all of his flaws will be scrutinized ad infinitum, though still not to the satisfaction of Bad Rogue on behalf of oppressed white men everywhere.

I would probably hedge and draft one in the 4th or 5th round this year.

Sadly the Bears don’t have that luxury considering the limited number of picks they have.

Now that Tanesha and Soup have steered the Bears' searches to their brilliant conclusions, maybe someone will steal one of them away from George so we can get a couple third rounders in return as compensation.

I just heard Polian speak on Waddle and Silvy, he made me somewhat hopeful about Fields.

Maybe he has similar tastes to D. Rose.

Haha.. Fields does have some D Rose oddness to him not that far think about it.. I don’t think he’s as socially awkward as Rose tho, doubt he was sheltered like Rose growing up

Make it interesting and name names bud.

I don’t doubt him personally, I think the potential is pretty great with him -he has all the physical talent

You'd be absolutely silly to not have doubts about Fields based on his play this season.

It could very well have all been Nagy, and a new coach brings out the best in him.

We'll see.

He never looked comfortable in Nagy's offense, but who did?

The dude has great speed and once he gets the corner it's an easy 5-10 yards each time, would think the next OC would be a little smarter than Nagy and run a lot of bootleg, roll outs, counters, and play action with him under center. A less predictable and more physical running game also would help keep the opposing defense more honest.

He really struggled with decision making, especially when he passed up easy short passes and thought he either had more time or that he could simply outrun NFL defensive players while he gained a few more seconds to let deep options break open. However, he likely had better lineman and better skill position players at Ohio State than he last year, so an upgrade in talent might just give him that extra second he needs to hit some of the deeper passes.

His throwing motion adds a half second to all of this.

These are beyond simple concepts, but this is what am curious about when it comes to Fields in 2022.

1. Can he throw a receiver open as opposed to throwing to an open receiver.

2. Can he avoid injuries.

3. Can he fumble less.

And Adams jerseys. Truth is, Bears fans are about to takeover Wisconsin. Packers fans spend their disposable income on fake certificates, cheese and shitty beer.

does any sophisticated NFL consumer really consider Florio an insider?

He aggregates other people's stories. Front offices aren't talking to him. He's like Arianna Huffington

Yeah, but he's just speculating, like we are, that Poles may not be sold on Fields.

Incidentally, Eberflus seemed to offer a pretty strong endorsement of Fields in his recent interview with Collinsworth.

Given the Bears lack of young talent, Poles is undeniably doing the right thing by tanking. If it turns out that Fields sucks in 2022, the Bears will have a very high pick to use on their next QB in a strong draft for QBs. If Fields solidifies his position as the long-term starter, Poles can either draft another top player with a very high pick or trade back and stockpile top 50 picks to build overall roster depth.

In any event, I recently watched a video of all of Fields' running and passing plays from last season. Compared to other offenses (New England, Las Vegas, Green Bay, San Francisco, etc), Fields was given very few easy throws as his first option. Even though that video is a bit of a dumpster fire, I came away somewhat encouraged because it's readily apparent what steps Fields can take to improve his play rather easily for next season. If he doesn't do those things, he should be launched.

I think it's being overstated. This is a tryout year for Fields. Of course if he doesn't improve he is gone just like any second year qb isn't likely to get the third year if they aren't improving.
