These parents must be completely brain damaged or deranged or they have IQs in the low 50s.
This story is nearly incomprehensible. You'd think it must be completely fabricated. But it's not.

Long story short a family friend abducts a ittle girl twice and the parents are kinda cool with it. Oh and both parents kinda slept with the perp.
The parents should have been charged with endangerment. It's remarkable how incredibly stupid they are. Stunningly stupid.

Never mind. I was trying to make a point that the idea of a serial killer, for example, was foreign to the culture of the late ‘60s/early ’70s.

doors unlocked, no cell phones, no ring door bells or even much in the way of security cameras, no DNA testing...good portion of the population still viewed hitchhiking as a viable means of transit and police depts walled off and sandboxed into their jurisdiction's parameters...a wonder there weren't more serial killers. Now serial killing's almost exclusively the domain of long-haul truckers, nursing home attendants and sketchy doctors.
