Have holed up in good ol’ Canton, OH the last two days. Rain, then sleet, then ice balls earlier today, then it started snowing. Good thing the lab is only about a mile from here. Had to order a part to be overnighted; if it doesn’t show any movement, gonna try to get back to the house tomorrow.

Slippery roads are likely later Wednesday night into early Thursday and then very hazardous travel conditions are possible Thursday through Thursday evening.

• Rain will change to an icy mix of freezing rain and some sleet then snow from south to north on Wednesday night into early Thursday, with some ice accumulation probable.

• The more uncertain but potential high impact part of the forecast remains Thursday when a strong storm system to our south could produce a swath of heavy snowfall totals, along with strong winds from the north. Icy mixed precipitation may linger through Thursday morning for far southeast areas.
Confidence unfortunately remains on the lower side in the snowfall forecast, though the current forecast favors somewhere in the orange shaded area for a swath of snowfall amounts of 6" or more.

• Changes in the track and strength of the low pressure area to our south will determine the areas that receive the higher snowfall totals and the highest snowfall amounts, and this could still include the current lower threat areas.
• Please stay tuned for updates later today, as we continue to refine this portion of the forecast. Plan ahead for possible travel impacts, including to both commutes on Thursday.

A brief warm up is expected through the middle of the week with temperatures topping out in the 50s Wednesday afternoon. The warmth will be short lived as a potent storm system is expected to pass through the area late Wednesday afternoon into the day on Thursday. This system will likely bring widespread rainfall that may be heavy at times Wednesday night, before gradually transitioning to a wintry mix of freezing rain and sleet into Thursday morning. Uncertainty still remains, especially for Thursday's forecast, but a potential for several inches of snowfall along with travel disruptions exists. Stay tuned for updates!
