JORR would be proud to see her run the oval track. We even have a rabbit that makes an appearance every once in a while to get our dog up to speed.

I am calling PETA, the Dr. uses a live rabbit to train his dog!!!!!

Mine had a squirrel trapped on our deck this morning. It was pretty amusing as the squirrel kept running back and forth along the rail and our dog was in hopping through a foot of snow futilely chasing it.

Good exercise.

I snowblow a of bit of the patio and a path to my grill, but I have to shovel an area for the dog to do her business.

My oldest called about ten asking to be plowed out to get to work by 1130, took me a half hour to get out of our driveway. The main roads were snow-covered, but passable, subdivisions unplowed. He had shoveled the edges of his driveway, making my job easier. I made it over to my Mom's cul-de-sac, the plow had build a two-foot fence at the end of the driveways there. Plowed her's and her neighbor's drives, then made it back to another half hour here. I even plowed at the old guy neighbor's, just to make it look like someone lives there.

We have a good eight inches of very heavy, wet snow, with some drifting. The 48F and rain of earlier this week completely thawed the ground to about 4 inches deep, so I performed some tremendous deep-cycle thatching everywhere I plowed. Nearly got stuck several times pushing piles into a new hayfield off the yard. What a mess that is going to be in Spring.

Cows hunkered down inside the barn, usually they enjoy standing out in the snow. At least I don't have to go in to work until tomorrow night.

Yeah, they absolutely missed the line at The Noisewater Estate. I saw at most we were to get 4. It’s double that and still falling.

Do you think Cheryl Scott thinks about what she is going to wear on a day like today due to her likely airtime? She's dressed like it is 85 outside.

I hope she stretched her arms prior to the enormous amount of dramatic and flourishing hand/arm movements she will be making today.

Completely uneventful out here. Weather app is drunk and says we've had 5 inches but clearing the drive today it can't be more than an inch and even the drifts aren't 5 inches. And that is about what the weather folks were predicting for our part of the area. 20 miles to the south or east and it would be a different story

We got about 4 inches of snow from this storm. The problem is it fell on top of about a 1/4 inch of sleet so there is a solid sheet of ice under it. Shoveling or plowing basically makes it worse.

Have holed up in good ol’ Canton, OH the last two days. Rain, then sleet, then ice balls earlier today, then it started snowing. Good thing the lab is only about a mile from here. Had to order a part to be overnighted; if it doesn’t show any movement, gonna try to get back to the house tomorrow.

Probably 6-7 inches in Villa Park. What would have been routine February maintenance was made more complicated because it didn't fall overnight but rather during an entire day. Nothing plowed, some lots still as of today. Very shitty to deliver beer in, would not recommend.

There are many worse places in OH - one is only about 15 miles up the road.

*Winter Weather Wed. Night-Thursday Update*

Slippery roads are likely later Wednesday night into early Thursday and then very hazardous travel conditions are possible Thursday through Thursday evening.

• Rain will change to an icy mix of freezing rain and some sleet then snow from south to north on Wednesday night into early Thursday, with some ice accumulation probable.

• The more uncertain but potential high impact part of the forecast remains Thursday when a strong storm system to our south could produce a swath of heavy snowfall totals, along with strong winds from the north. Icy mixed precipitation may linger through Thursday morning for far southeast areas.
Confidence unfortunately remains on the lower side in the snowfall forecast, though the current forecast favors somewhere in the orange shaded area for a swath of snowfall amounts of 6" or more.

• Changes in the track and strength of the low pressure area to our south will determine the areas that receive the higher snowfall totals and the highest snowfall amounts, and this could still include the current lower threat areas.
• Please stay tuned for updates later today, as we continue to refine this portion of the forecast. Plan ahead for possible travel impacts, including to both commutes on Thursday.

[Tuesday February 15, 2022 7:50 AM CST]
A brief warm up is expected through the middle of the week with temperatures topping out in the 50s Wednesday afternoon. The warmth will be short lived as a potent storm system is expected to pass through the area late Wednesday afternoon into the day on Thursday. This system will likely bring widespread rainfall that may be heavy at times Wednesday night, before gradually transitioning to a wintry mix of freezing rain and sleet into Thursday morning. Uncertainty still remains, especially for Thursday's forecast, but a potential for several inches of snowfall along with travel disruptions exists. Stay tuned for updates!

Snow totals cannot be accurately predicted until 24 hours before the storm.

This is generally true, but they usually have a pretty good idea of it being a "big" storm or not a few days before. The last big snow we got on Groundhog Day, the forecasters were on that almost a week ahead of time.

Confidence seems to be increasing towards Thursday's storm being 6"+ of snow for most of the area south of I-88. In all honesty that is probably better than getting 2" of rain with the ground still frozen.

Calling for anywhere between 1 and 6 inches just over the cheddar curtain. It has been an odd winter for sure, I can see grass on over half my yard. Still hoping for an early spring and get some extra rounds of golf in but I know we can get snow into April.
