If she moved to China then they would but why are they going to continue to care about her as she lives the rest of her life in California instead of China?

I'm also not sure that China really cares about these types of x games type sports.

China sucks at sports the rest of the world likes, so they’ll take what they can get.

They’ll feature her heavily in ads and demand she spend a month or two there each year in exchange for generational wealth. They get as much out of the NBA guys who don’t need the money nearly as much.

I always assumed she was getting paid by China. She claims that she's doing it to empower Chinese female athletes and to grow the sport in China, but I'm not entirely sure that's the only reason behind her decision. You don't see too many athletes that are good enough to play for their own country's team, jump ship and join up with another country.

That the Russians have been allowed to compete in this and the last few Olympic games is ridiculous.

I saw some article the other day that she pulls in mid-8 figures from sponsorships within China. And that was before the Olympics.

Found something called the Olympic Channel, has a bunch of odd interviews with the medal winners with some barely audible translation, but it gives you the results 8 or more hours before the "Plausibly Live" coverage on NBC.

Remember when ABC used to do the, "Up Close and Personal" puff pieces on the US athletes, Jim McKay seemed to bring a bit of class to everything he covered.
