Basically a lot of things that make me a middle aged woman.

What's so great about the Peloton? My +1 wants one but I don't see why I can't just get a regularly-priced exercise bike and duct tape a tablet to it.

No idea. Content is good; the bike works well in connection with the content but you might be able to reproduce that on your duct taped tablet.

I’m an educated man but I’m afraid I can’t speak intelligently about the construction quality of stationary bikes at different price points.

Hamilton is a good call. I came into that show desperately wanting to hate it, but had to admit it was well done by the time I was through with it.

Yep, but it's the gadget du jour, so everyone swoons over it.

Says only someone who’s never used one or doesn’t know how or when to.

Exactly. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

People get really defensive when you say negative things about air fryers.

Yet to see Hamilton. I have no doubt it's good, but the hype around it does make me want to hate it.

Here's the real question....prior to COVID, tickets were something like $300 or so each? Was it near worth that kind of money? I find it hard to believe it's worth the money.

I’ve only seen it on Disney+. It’s worth the $7 or whatever I pay for that.

I don't think it is anything great, but I do enjoy things cooked in it more rather than baking them in the oven.

Is it any faster than the oven? I'm thinking along the lines of reheating pizza, etc.

To be fair, we bought a deep fryer right at the start of the covid shutdown, and use that mainly for fries and some other stuff for parties, etc.

It isn't any faster, but like fries do come out crispier than in the oven. I have put cod patties in there and shrimp and they come out nice too.

Eh...for as often as I have fries at home, I'll just stick with the deep fryer...I've been working on a Belgian style double fry that seems to come out really well. For an every once in a while kind of thing, I'll deal with the oil.

I liked it more than I thought but I'm not a show person. West side story is my favorite, we went a few years ago it cost about 400-500 for tix parking and dinner. I don't want to do that ever again. Hamilton I went with friends and then the 3 in my family went for Christmas. It was probably worth it for me and my daughter, not so much for my husband and son. I don't know if that helps or not.

No. It's not worth the money. You can better entertain yourself by directing that money elsewhere.

I don't like musicals because the story tends to stop the moment a song starts, and then I'm treated to five to seven minutes of people spinning around and repeating themselves. They're boring.

However, with Hamilton the songs don't punctuate the story, they are the story. Almost every verse of every song either tells the story or develops a character. It makes for a fully engaging experience.

It isn’t better than a deep fryer but is vastly better than a “toaster oven” or an oven in general for items for which you’re hoping to obtain a fried texture. It’s great for wings and cheese curds for instance, and is a much better option for re-heating previously fried items.

Seltzers!

Great product. Held out for a long time, but modern day Zima delivers. Claw, high noon…MANY good options out there at elevated price points.

It's not about air fryers. Personally, I get annoyed when people talk authoritatively when it is clear they don't know what the fuck they are talking about. I don't know if it stems from them being a contrarian or they just have a shitty personality but it annoying nonetheless.

I would get one, even at it's ridiculous price, if it wasn't for the monthly app fee ($40). All the different workouts, cycling stages, and the community aspect would be a major draw for me. iirc people can ride a simulation of the Tour de France and other famous courses. I envision it as an online Strava platform that you use in your basement. If your +1 has a road bike, Zwift is a much cheaper alternative. She would have to get a trainer but it is still much cheaper.

Spent tons of money on shows when dating Mrs. Claw, it's a means to an end, you put out for the show and...well lets just say things go well for you later. Fortunate enough to be a girl dad, so have been able to outsource attending the shows to little Claw, now Mrs. C likes her gambling trips, which I enjoy as well and gets me the same outcome.

It's faster in that it takes just seconds to preheat...I agree the actual cooking time isn't much faster than a regular convection oven.
