Why would I want to do that?

to get Brad Underwood's thoughts.

I'll save everyone time. His thoughts are we should have shot better and we struggled to get into an offensive rhytym. But I'm proud of these guys and I wish things for guys like Frazier and Kofi would have ended better considering how important they've been to the program.

Now you can listen to something else.

I think his interview will be a lot longer than that. Let people hear what he has to say!

I'm sure it will too. What are you expecting him to say?

There is almost nothing in life that I hate more than listening to post-game shows on losses for teams that I care about.

Why would anybody want to just wallow in defeat?

The guy gets out gameplanned every game in the NCAA he's coached. Chattanooga is terrible and they still should have beat Illinois. Today was just easy money.

So, assuming Kofi leaves and there are no transfers, Illinois will have

C- Payne, Dainja
PF- Hawkins, Bosmans-Verdonk, Ty Rodgers
SF/SG- Goode, Melendez, Sencire Harris
PG- Curbelo, Jayden Epps

No NCAA tournament next year for that team.

They Podz also. Those are highly rated guys.

Who knows if they are good but they are considered top guys. Rodgers, Epps, Harris are all top 100.

Melendez, Goode and Podz are top 100 guys.

These are much better recruits than there were getting for a while. I don't think Curbelo stays but he's another one.

nice!

Another note, at least this funny nugget came out of it:

Reporter: "What went in to the decision to not play Curbelo in the second half?"
Coach BU: "Coaches decision"

*Complete silence for several seconds*

No doubt. This team will get thrown back into the stone age.

Entire starting lineup will be gone. We have fucking nobody.

It’s 3:24 and on my 5th Spotted Cow. All I need is a WI loss with an ND win to end up naked and happy in the middle of a county road. Glorious.

Sad, but true. Pantsed by Porter Moser with a 1st team AA and a 2d team AA. Now pantsed by Kelvan Sampson who is missing 2 starters.

My tournament loyalties are once again open to bidders. RFP is issued. We do discriminate based on religion and ethnicity.

At this point, the Illinois basketball program has been inconsequential for so long that it's hard to take joy in the team's failures.

I still do. But it's just harder than it used to be.

Make fun of their lack of success all you want, but they were a #1 seed last year. That's hardly "inconsequential".

You do have a point. Their failure was funnier than usual last year. Thanks for the reminder!

A #1 seed that got bounced in round 2 by 8th seed Loyola....seems pretty inconsequential to me

Rage of Illini fans when their scrub ass teams disappoints on a yearly basis..could quite possibly solve the next energy crisis. It's a beautiful thing.

As an Illini fan I’m not surprised with how the season ended. I think next year will be big to see if Underwood is the guy to lead this team. Not convinced personally. Seems like they have some young talent and could use a veteran from the portal. They have been maddening to watch the last few years with the turnovers and uneven play. I’m not sure to put that at Underwood's feet or not but certainly seems that he should shoulder some of it.

Loves New York.

And was a level of college hoops he could play at pre pandemic.

He looked at Davidson, some Ivy League schools and a couple of other schools near there around the same level. Manhattan, Fordham, Rider for instance.

He was studying at a local library as a freshman for a science final.

The AP seniors from the local Jesuit school were studying the same science for a final exam that he was.

Ruined the fairy tale he was told that their school was more academically rigorous.
