No thanks. No trading picks this year. THey need to be getting more picks not trading picks away for an average WR.

Yeah, I don't want Poles trading away picks either.

Cole Beasley is available in free agency and probably will command around $5-6 million/year. I would look very seriously at him. He was a nice security blanket for Josh Allen and would bring a valuable veteran presence to the receiving corps.

A legit slot guy who can open immediately would be nice given the line situation. Somehow in his years of overdrafting small school guys, Pace never identified a shifty white slot guy who’s automatically open inside of 5 yards.

Have the Bears made any moves that might lead one to think that they aren't tanking this year?

They have not. That they also seem willing to sacrifice Fields’ second year suggests they’re not high on him either.

Correct. Typically, teams build up their offense after drafting a QB in the first round. In contrast, the Bears further dismantled their offense and made a defensive player their #1 target in free agency. Those moves suggest they may be drafting another QB in 2023.

True, but Beasley is still pretty good, shouldn't cost too much, and is really valuable in 3rd down situations.

Hopefully that means that we get a burner and db to replace our losses

Someone today on Rich Eisen's show described him as 'homebody'...a homebody out at a club?

He's alone in the corner of the club.

Even homebodies like to go out once in a while and sometimes you get dragged out.

The Giants didn't pick up Jones 5th year option. They're going to draft a quarterback.

no way. they will however trade down from 5 or 7 to get another first rounder for next year if they can. too many needs to fill on that team to overdraft a QB this year.

i will amend my previous post by saying if malik willis plummeted down the draft board and was available with their second rounder they'd consider it, if he is even a guy they are interested in in the first place. No way they are taking willis or pickett at 5 or 7, neither are worth that much of a gamble when you need help in so many areas on both sides of the ball. The top ten of this draft is too deep to roll the dice on either of those guys in my opinion.

I think they have til May 3rd. Probably waiting to see how the draft goes. If they draft a QB they like, they don't pick it up. If they don't get a QB, they probably pick it up.

Why? A guy signing a 1 year deal is going to a place where he feels gives him the best opportunity to succeed. IMO, it's an indictment of Fields. He came off as a shitty leader last year. Receivers talk. Chark chose Goff over Fields and Landry chose Winston and a crowded receiving room over Fields.
