Really small sample size so may mean nothing, but I like the approach of the Cubs hitters so far in the games I have watched. They seem to have more of a plan at the plate.

Letting all those guys from the core go was the best thing they could have done. From what I heard Theo let those guys do whatever the hell they wanted and backed them 100 percent. That is why it never mattered who the hitting coach was or what Joe would do because they were too arrogant and stubborn to do anything other that what they wanted. This team hit better last season after they made all the trades which would seem pretty crazy if you told someone that would happen when the trades were made.

I have loosely followed the games despite heyward still clogging up the roster (nice inning ending strikeout looking asshole) and it seems like there is less talent but a better collective group than last year. Aim small miss small.

Efross got the 3rd out, but the next inning he gave up 2 runs.

Bullpen ended up giving up 4 runs. So what was accomplished by taking Smyly out? 0 runs and 74 pitches when taken out. This is treason to take a guy out like that for no good reason!

Let him finish the 5th, and then go the 6th, he woulda gotten the win and woulda not been so close a game.

Terrible managing.

Smyly has been ramping up slowly because he is not far removed from arm surgery. With the short spring training, he only had 75 pitches in him.
