I think he can be an NBA guy and be valuable.

But I don't get to make those decisions.

Does he have eligibility left?

He can play two more years.

I guess last year was only his third season, huh? It seems like he's been there forever. Does everyone who was in school during the COVID ear get a fifth year? Is fifth year eligibility permanent?

The year after COVID cancelled the NCAA tournament does not count for eligibility for anyone but Ivy League players because the Ivy League didn't play a season. Everyone can use it, but scholarship limits stay the same going forward.

He would have had a place in the NBA in previous generations.

But what part of his game translates to the current NBA game? Teams would destroy him on defense. Can you imagine him trying to stop an NBA pick and roll?

He's Andre Drummond at best. Which you are right can make him a NBA player.

I just am not sure he gets drafted. People are all over on their predictions of him I see high second round grades all the way to undrafted.

His game relies way too much on just being stronger than almost everyone he plays against. That won't work in the NBA. Add in that he hasn't shown any ability to be an offensive threat outside the paint and it's hard to see what he does in the NBA but he probably would dominate a European league.

He is not close to Drummond.

What places are you seeing him in 2nd round? I have looked at 4 this morning and he is no where to be found.

I'll look back - it was probably a bit dated but had him drafted around 50. The current one on the Athletic doesn't have him drafted.

I assumed like a few others that he was a senior. He is 22. I'd love to have him back but wouldn't blame him trying to go pro if he did. He definitely made a lot of strides this year from the previous season. I could see him playing 7-8 minutes in the pros and being a foul machine.

No, I can't. But he can be a guy on the bench that goes in and gives you 10 minutes on the boards and hit a couple putbacks. He gets up and down the court and he has the size.

He may still improve. What I stated above is a baseline. But I think he's already like 22 years old.

He should definitely go to Europe.

I've been watching a lot of German basketball lately (thank you, FanDuel). He could be a big-time guy there for 15 years and then go to the Philippines and play until he's 43.

Mike Harris got 40/20 the other day in the Filipino league. He's 38.

I definitely think his best plan is to go play in Europe and see how that goes. Then maybe look to get a NBA role at some point.

I recently joined a Zoom call and forgot I had the German league feed on my computer running.

Took me about 10 seconds to find the window the audio was on and gave the group of about 12 people ten seconds of what sounded like Nazi youth rally.

I felt like they couldn't know it was my session and maybe someone hacked the feed for a minute.

Kofi gone but Illinois reportedly has the largest NIL collective in college sports right now so it will probably work out well.

I forgot to tune in and haven't seen a game yet this year. I know the roster had a big makeover. Who are the studs this year?

Shannon could be Player of the Year if he keeps this up.

He could not have played better last night

Loved to see Coleman doing the hard work in the paint

I turned it off at half. Figured the second half would be similar to the end of the first and they'd end up losing by 15 or so. I figured it would be a learning experience they can reflect on. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Looks like Harris was a huge spark off the bench. I love all 4 of the frosh and I'm impressed with Dainja, too. I was expecting Omar Payne Part 2.

They played like a Big 12 team, except with defense. Size and speed working together. Harris played really well. Mayer looks like he will be valuable, too.

Omar Payne...it hurts to hear his name. What a bust.

Looks like they really cranked up the press in the second half and cut down on turnovers. I think they learned a lot about themselves yesterday.
