Heyward would not be a MLB player if not for his HUGE contract. I'm serious. No team would want him. But he has the contract so he gets to be in MLB despite the fact that he sucks. That's gotta be nice. Not just in MLB, but he gets to start every day. Amazing. I just feel bad for all the minor league guys that are equal or even a little better then him that never will get a shot.

I have so much respect for Jason Heyward it's outrageous. He's been an incredible teacher if you hear him talk about things he has done with Seiya. Like to make sure all the communication is solid, everything they're donin' is right. Talking about right field with him. Everything like that. Hugely important guy on a team is Jason Heyward in all those abstract senses.

Washed up veterans who talk with younger players have a revolving door in MLB and are a dime a dozen.To say if some of these guys are bad money contracts but bring value doing what (ex MLB player) minimum pay scale coaches could duplicate is illogical. These bad money thieves are all over baseball, and will be given the boot as soon as contractually possible only to be a faded bad memory to teams.

His demeanor remains the same because the mother fucker does not care one way or the other what happens because the checks keep coming. Since the season started there's been one article after another praising him for being a failure. Previous posts hit on some good points. He never gets mad for his offensive failure. He won't address his hitting woes only each spring to say he's working hard. The guys a coward who speaks in narrow pre-rehearsed terms only.

This may be an ignorant question, but the money is a sunk cost and he’s not tradable. Why not DFA him and bring in a guy from AAA? The team would be better off, and I don’t know of a Cubs fan that likes Heyward or wants to see him play.

It’s hard to argue the Ricketts are cheap while complaining about overpaying for Heyward. They have dumped a lot of money in payroll and Wrigley improvements. The Ricketts have been a net positive.
