she has talent though. she said she smoked a ton of cigs and weed as a teen and it made her voice permanently raspy... and she used that to her advantage. trained to sing with that damage, and it works.

Celebrity chef Jacques Pépin worked for Howard Johnson for a decade. I think he would actually show up and cook in the kitchen at the Times Square location on occasion. But mostly he worked on overseeing the menu for the chain in general.

Is it just a hotel or hotel/restaurant? I think the HoJo hotel/motel is still around, but they no longer franchise any restaurants. Although I think if one has an original HoJo franchise license that included the restaurant and they were still operating the hotel under that license, they could reopen a Howard johnson branded restaurant; which seems strange, but maybe they granted the original franchisees licenses for both in perpetuity.
