I just started work at this place 2 months ago
Was at previous place for 3.5 years

It amazes me how there is no management at either of these places. The previous place was like the wild wild west, people just came and go as they pleased (yea i know i should have stayed )
Here, like right now, i'm posting and completely goofing off
I could be doing work
But i seriously have no idea what they want me to do
I've tried to ask, submitted things to bosses i've worked on, in other words im trying to do work...no feedback

I mean ok, i can goof off all day, fine by me

Millennials are usually placated by simple things like asking them about who they follow on social media, they also like to be told what is going on because they then think they are actually involved in the decision making process. See many clashes between the older workers and younger ones which eventually lead to the older workers just ignoring the younger workers and only interacting with them via intermediaries.

Can be a tricky needle to thread if you have to try to get both groups to work together as the older ones will continually bitch about the incompetence and arrogance of the younger people and the younger people complain about how slow the older ones are and that they "do not support them".

In a 1/4 of the IHSA games I’ve umped so far this year, the visiting team hasn’t even been in the parking lot at game time. Today they showed up at 4:48 (4:30 games) and we started at 5:05. Not great when it’s not even 40° out.

Is there a rule how long you have to wait before you can declare a forfeit?

No chance with the bus shortage right now. We have had games that start at 445 and the bus didn't show til 430.

Yeah, schools with their own busses are on time and those that don't, it's a crapshoot. I had Downer's North 2 weeks ago at Willowbrook and they were on the field warming up when I got there at 4:10. The next week I had them at LT which is a similar distance and they got there at 4:40.

This is actually great advice. And if the company can pay for it even better.

My daughters school is the same. School is out at 3:10, and it's usually pushing 3:45 or 4pm before the bus even shows up to take them to the 4:30 or 4:45 game. They played Mother McCauley a few weeks ago (one of the longer drives), and it was after 5:15 before game even started. Had a really short drive yesterday, so coaches drove the 2 short busses the school owns and they were warming up before 4pm.
