CJ Stroud needs Fields to have a better season in 2022 than Fields had in 2021; which shouldn't be difficult to improve on being one of the worst starters in the league. Fields goes bust this year and watch Stroud fall in the 2023 draft, no matter how good of a season Stroud has in 2022.

I think you better become comfortable with the reality that BPA at 39 is going to be a defensive player.

which hopefully increases the chance of trading down

My guy says that there are two edge rushers the Bears really like.

If they can get one of them at 39, then they will trade with KC for Pick(s) and send them Quinn.

I like Maye form Minnesota and Jackson from USC.

Id stay put, get the best WR or Olineman available.

David Bell in the third round will be the steal of the draft. He'll have at least two seasons he gets at least 1,000 yards. His measurables at the combine were horrible but he's the Allen Robinson that just puts up numbers even without elite athleticism.

This happens all too often. There is a huge difference between athleticism and being a football player. Fast is great, but useless if you can't get off the jam....jump and catch....block.

I hate the combine.

But if the best players available are mostly defense, then why wouldnt you trade down and pick up something extra and then take a WR or OL? Seems like a no brainer.

Now if they really like a edge guy there that is always a good pick too. You can never have too many rushers.

I would be thrilled if the Bears got Bell. I agree he is going to be really good

Nope, once again for like the 5th time, I have no clue how he is going to be. He maybe great, he maybe horrible. No one knows yet. I am willing to give him some time and see how things go. There is no use in judging the man before he has finished one offseason.

All you do is bitch to hear yourself bitch.

Allen Robinson is 3 inches taller, twenty pounds heavier, and 6 more inches on his vertical, but other than that you were close on your player comp.

Robinson measured one inch taller at the combine and 8 pounds heavier. That's a pretty massive difference!

Did you mean to address that to Aaron Rodgers.

Prior to the ACL injury, he missed close to half of his sophomore season with a separate injury.

He only played one complete season, his freshman year, at Georgia.

That's not so good, especially given the Bears' history of drafting "pre-injured" players.

It seems like a semi annual event since Wanny drafted Pat Reilly

our current avatar is Teven Jenkins

I can't remember one of those guys drafted with an injury ever fulfilling his pre injury potential

Stan Thomas was essentially debilitated and they took him in the first round.

I love the size and speed of this Watson kid. If he is your guy, I think Poles should draft him with the first pick.

every time I think I've found the guy for the bears he starts to shoot up draft boards. It started with Zion Johnson.

Now, I think the guy is Tyler Smith, T, Tulsa. All of his technical deficiencies should be able to be resolved with a move to guard. He plays a very physical game, sometimes taking bad penalties beyond the whistle. However, I think if you plug him in at that open guard position next to Jenkins, you have created that attitude switch in the OL group that Poles seems to want. Now, I see that he is starting to be projected into some first rounds.

The other Poles type guy for that OG spot is Cole Strange from Chatanooga. You can get him further down in the draft.

I doubt Raimann makes it to us but he is one of the rare, purely LT prospects. I think he goes to the Jets.

As I've been saying all along, the bpa is going to be on defense.

I think Pickens is there if you are a high stakes gambler.

Nakobe Dean being there would present a dilemma. Roquan would stick at middle and he would be weakside. We could have two rockets playing LB.

you love those fast WR with bad hands

I'd take Pickens, if it was a choice.

I don't think they are going WR with that first pick, might even trade down.

Yes, I love potential game changers instead of possession receivers.

Watson's hands are about 2 inches bigger than Pickens. Watson's size, speed, and injury history give him the edge for me. I would be fine with either of them.

Didn't Watson drop close to 50% of the balls thrown to him in college? He also reportedly sucks at route-running.

But other than that he's great.

From what I've read, drops are no longer an issue for him. You can't teach size or speed, and he wowed everyone at the senior bowl and combine. Besides, it's not like there are any lottery tickets available that are without questions.

and he played against DII competition, where a player can dominate simply on physical traits.

I wouldn't hate if we had him but he will need some coaching. Maybe draft him and sign Julio Jones.

Who are the guys that you all want to see the Bears target today?

Edit: Will they draft a quarterback this weekend or sign one after the draft?

1) I'd like to see them ignore the WR position completely.
2) TE should be addressed EARLY and OFTEN preferably Caucasians from DIV III schools.
3) Another backup QB is a must
4) Some grindy, mean/nasty olineman with high tempers and low football skills to round it out.

Just put the ball in Watson's hands. He's an explosive play waiting to happen. Good runner, kick returner, and receiver. He's a football player who is still raw but has ELITE tools.
