I had read a couple of things about Gordon before the draft that thought he was a perfect fit for the bears. However, like the cb in lovie d, aren’t those guys available later because they don’t rely on elite athletic traits…just length and ability to tackle. Anyway I expect he will start day 1 and we will like him. Can’t say cb wasn’t a big need, as we saw last year. I like the little I saw of graham last year but you couldn’t start the season with just him. The cb group is a lot better right now with him and the slot cb from the ravens.

Did you expect them to make the playoffs this year? They are going to be bad next year and not very good the year after that. The 2023 and 2024 draft picks and what they've already done will allow them to be good in 2024/2025.

If the team is shit for the next two years, it likely means Fields is shit too so there goes that plan

Safety was a big need as well and this guy was always considered pretty good. Every mock I was doing was pushing him or pitre to the bears. But safety is not a high impact position and our picks are limited so I stayed away. Same thing, he should start day 1 and we will like him. But just as the discussion about Amos, you can get good starting level safeties every year in free agency

I just think we aren’t used to seeing a bpa disciplined draft.

Neither of these guys were offense or the three key positions eberflus annunciated for his defense. They were the top of poles remaining draft board

I honestly had never heard of velus before this week. Then I heard a caller pimping him on blech and Abdallah. So I did some research. I thought the age and lack of elite production would have made him draftable with on the the fifth round picks as the second receiver we took in the draft. A special teams ace seems like a luxury for this team. I think he is much more cordarelle than Hester and I’m surprised people are making that comparison. Getsy seemed to like him and I expect to see him play many roles. I much prefer a guy his size running bubble screens and sweeps than Mooney. I doubt this guy is ever better than a #3 wr but he does have some elite skills you can use in a diverse wr room. He’ll see the field a lot

We obviously are going to have to go into fa for another wr. Again, there will be good wr cut after so many were taken in the draft. We have the money to get them

I do believe because the coaching and O line were so bad the last few years we have no real idea how good or bad the WR group is.

Granted it’s probably not better than average.

Mooney looks good, but other than that we don’t really know.

Would love to see Newsome take a big step this year.

He’s got a lot of open space escapability.

Should take a look at Sam Howell.

I’m a fan.

Did I really see a comp somewhere on the new WR as Deebo?

That seems like a HUGE stretch, but that would be a great find.

At least it was someone on offense

Gotta believe the Bears will grab a Guard with one of those 5ths. Not sure whats still out there worth kicking the tires on but I’d think one of those two picks would be an O linemen

Also, Norte Dame WR Kevin Austin Jr. might be an intriguing prospect in the 5th. Good size/strength/speed combo guy.

Mooney would be #1 on Green Bay, we dont even have the worst WRs in the division.

Darrien Kinnard OL from Kentucky was rated to go in the 2nd round but for some reason is still on the board. People from Kentucky do not say nice things about Kinnard as a person might be the issue.

Thayer Munford OL the Ohio State University -- 4 year starter, so he must've blocked for Fields back at tOSU

There's also Jamaree Salyer from Georgia for OL, but he rates out as a below average starter or backup as an NFL prospect

Poles has literally done everything he said he would do. Just because MANY of you all have the patience of a 2 year old isn't his problem. He's sticking to the plan he outlined. If it sucks, he'll be gone quickly.

He's giving his defensive head coach the ability to put together a defense that doesn't completely suck. They'll pound the ball like it's 1965 and run a lot of play action to open up some windows for a quarterback who is still developing.

Yeah but GB has one of the greatest QB’s in history to make up for that gap. Rodgers will look fine next year (provided he stays healthy).

Kinnard was a guy from wanted. Obviously something beyond talent is bringing him down.

Eh.. you have a point I guess but that late in the draft.. meh I’m fine with it. I’m willing to be critical of what we’ve seen him do so far, but 6th 7th round picks is pushing it for me lol

Actually he said he was going to start with building the oline and all he has done in that regard is sign Green Bay’s backup center

They upgraded the worst offensive lineman. They have a bunch of young guys. They've rearranged their positions. Seeing what you have instead of reaching is a very sound decision.

Lecitus smith og vt would be a nice get and has day 1 starter potential

There is still lots of potential at wr, like so many I can’t even name them all

Jack Sorenson, WR out of Miami of Ohio would be a good UDFA to look at. Julian Edelman slot type receiver. I don't know who the Bears have as their possession receiver right now.

At some point it’d be nice if analysts compared draft picks to backups or guys who had mediocre careers.

Instead of “Velus Jones reminds me a lot of Darrius Heyward-Bey,” we get “this 25yr old rookie who couldn’t find the field at Southern Cal is a combination of Devin Hester and Deebo Samuel.”

At left tackle we don’t know if Borom will be a upgrade over Jason Biden Peters

At right guard he has literally replaced Daniels with nobody

Jenkins should be an upgrade over Ifedi

Meanwhile the Packers, who have a very good offensive line with average depth, have added 2 more beasts to the squad.

A Deebo comp is as ridiculous as thinking that was some kind of off the radar pick. He played at USC and UT. Every team has seen him. Now if you took Romeo Doubs I would be jealous.

You did see that conp, from the Gm. The only similarities are their age and position
