Heyward's weak routine bleeder grounders seem to benefit by the bizarre shift eeking through the infield.

Hadn't heard this one. Amazing story of courage for Heyward to stay in the game. Like a soldier carrying his injured buddy on his back through enemy bullets to safety. A true hero!

This guy is insane. Credits the WS win to JHk. He's responsible for Wisdom's & Nico Hoerner's success. These guys are trying to pass him off as the Cubs version of Michael Jordan.

To sum up this guys grammar error riddled article...
"Yeah, he's dramatically overpaid, really put the cubs into a bad offensive spot in the 2016 playoffs, doesn't hit for power or any kind of consistency but 6 years ago he said inspired words and that commands respect!"

Like I said if the Cubs needed a cheerleader during the rain delay or to say magic words or inspiration to Nico Hoerner, Tony Robbins would have been a lot cheaper than Heyward.

The bum hit 5/48 .104 1 rbi 2016 postseason. Why couldn't he give himself a motivational speech?

Yeah. You might as well just cut him. Eat the money. It's a sunk cost. Give some kid a chance to play.

Heyward just doesn't belong in MLB. I know it's 20 million this year and next year. So what? He sucks. At his age he's not gonna stop sucking.

His swing is awful. Always has been. To be in MLB for 10+ years and not learn how to swing the bat offends me. My two nephews probably won't make MLB, obviously. But they have a better swing then Heyward.

Parkins and Speigel had a bit about choosing who you would be out of any baseball player in this city. Parkins chose Heyward.

He would be a great guy to have as like a 5th OFer and mentor for young guys making a couple million a year.

Sox have a guy like that. Josh Harrison. He makes 5 mil. Seems about right for a clubhouse guy/mentor who doesn't much contribute on the field.

Heyward should be kangaroo-court fined every game he's up with the bases empty or a man on first and he doesn't hit the ball where only the shifted 3B can field it. If he's that much of a professional, learn to dump one down the third base line.

I'm surprised team don't pull their left fielders and have four infielders on the right side.

Add in Leury who fucking steals $5.5 million a season to suck ass.

Made me think of Heyward's mentoring and leadership bs. Haugh asked Tom Thayer if he agreed with Ryan Tannehill's "not my job to mentor" rookie QB Malik Willis stance. Thayer said he agreed totally with RT that it's the coaches job. Bringing up Favre/Rogders and his own experience of never being mentored by a fellow offensive lineman. Haugh was in utter shock in TT not being a good teammate in his obviously PC slanted view. I'm sure JHK talks with fellow players but his role in their development is certainly fabricated to take the focus off his complete and utter failure.

It is a dead heat right now between who the chicago sub media is writing more fluff stories for: Fields or Heyward. There are plenty of players that are brought in for the sole purpose of leadership. They are older players that just want to stay in the game and they have minimal salaries. They are not the highest paid position in the history of the organization.

True, but at least no bs comes from Fields. He's not a fraud. Shame Fields had be in the middle of the Pace/Nagy fiasco starting his career. Still a lot of hope for Fields.

Every time Heyward hits a ground ball to the 1B, Ross should kick him in the nuts.

JHK 2 rbi in 52 ab would be 19 rbi in 500 ab.

And that's being shielded from lefties. Only 5 out of 52ab vs lefties (1%).

Career Cubs ops 706.

'22 oppo% 8.8 MLB avg 25.4. Whiff % 34.4 shift 40/56 71%

What kinda funny about that 5 PA against lefties is that he's got 2 hits.

Somethings up. Heyward is batting 9th against a Lefty tonight. Hes been limited to 5 ABs against Leftys all season.
