The fellating of Suzuki is not aging well either. By my math he is striking out over 1/3 of the time and has a sub .250 average now.

They need to move him back to the 5 spot for a while and see if he can get more situations with a guy on base.

BATTING AVERAGE DOESN’T MATTER.

Yeah but striking out a third of the time does.

He IS a regular guy. You'll be able to hang out with him when he is a hitting instructor to little league travel players in a couple of years

still laughing about all those posts in 2015/2016, telling Sox fans to get used to the Cubs dominating for the next ten years.

Lots of minor league talent.
Huge baseball market.
Very good stadium deal.
Championship pedigree.
Underwhelming success based on the "win every year" strategy that MLB has decided is not correct.
Demanding fan base.
Potential of a new downtown domed stadium after Guaranteed Rate is no longer viable.
Coming sale of the team to a deep pocketed owner.

It sucks now but the White Sox could be a force in the future.

the cubs didn't have too much look forward to, SP-wise - after the 1983 season. ruthven-trout-rainey-noles SPs. jenkins on his way out. had some young talent and veteran talent to trade.

scott sanderson acquired in the off-season. early in the 1984 season - eckersley for buckner and the next month, sutcliffe for mel hall and joe carter and the cubs were on their way.

i still believe the cubs will be a legit division contender by 2024. things can get better overnight.
