I've had a major grinding problem over the years due to anxiety and now I'm being told I will need full mouth reconstruction within a few years and that will cost me 40k. Of course my dental insurance is useless and I make a little over $40,000 a year so I'm sure I'm not poor enough to qualify for any sort of government assistance. But 40k? Are you joking? Does anyone have any friends or relatives that work in the dental field and might have some suggestions on what to do?

I’d start by getting a 2nd opinion. If you trust what you’re hearing after that and the info is about the same, see if it’s something that can be done over a period of time rather than in one shot. That way the costs associated are a bit more palatable.

Price wise, that sounds pretty ridiculous. But medical costs being ridiculous aren’t anything new or surprising. I had kidney stones a couple weeks back and had to go to the emergency room and that alone was 8k.. so yeah, shits out of control.

That’s probably all on 4. Could go higher than that even. Hopefully bone density in your jaw is good so they don’t have to do Grafts. Had to do some research on them for a friend of family a year back or so.

At least with medical there's a limit to what Id have to pay. Dental is a scam. Having a heart attack would be cheaper.

The whole fucking dentist industry is a scam. Last time I went to a dentist was when I was 10 and that fucker tried to scam my dad out of money saying I needed cavities filled. All those fucking teeth fell out so my old man won.

My teeth are still there and I don't have any pain. Maybe their not pearly whites but I don't give a shit.

Also, don't ask any friends / relatives who are dentists. Because they're all in on the scam and will say how you'll need it.

If worse comes to worse and you have to do it. Get it done in Mexico. Their dentists are just as good as here and instead of $40,000 it'll cost you like $400.

Don't you ever get tired of coming up with all these lies?

Not 100% sure this wouldn’t be medical to be honest. Wisdom tooth extraction for example is medical and not dental. At least it was when I had mine done. Probably dental though.

Los Algodones

looks like it costs under $10,000 and you get a free 3 night stay at Hotel Hacienda throw in.

might want to shop around, read reviews, compare prices, there's a metric fuckton of places in Los Algodones, which is well-known for this sort of dental work

Thank you .. told you RFDC.

Ya I mistyped and I think it was around $4000 not $400. I guess it's gone up in price. What does it cost if you have insurance in the U.S.?

If he would have simply listened to his boyfriend in the first place, he'd still have his teeth and thus no need for full mouth reconstruction.

A few years ago my wife broke her wrist in Cancun on a Saturday night (actually 1am Sunday morning). That entailed a trip to the ER. Traiga su pasaporte y tarjeta de crédito (Bring your passport and credit card). They had to call in an ortho. Still managed to get in and out of the ER in under 3 hours. $3,400. The ortho here said they did a perfect job setting her wrist. I cannot imagine what it would have cost here and how much more time the process would have taken.
