I live close enough to three burrito places that I only make a run for the border when I am really slumming it

What are your three close burrito places? Pueblito on Touhy and Crawford. What are the other two? Cuatro Hermanos #2 by the Leaning Tower?

TBK on either Touhy or Cicero and there is one at on Central just east of Devon. Thinking about it, I probably have half a dozen close.

Oh yeah, there's that big place on Devon and Central. Is it any good?

my kids like it. I heard raves from people about Pueblito, even though it looks like a place street walkers hang out at to warm up in between tricks. I like TBK, solid but unspectacular. Quatro has the best nachos I've had from a storefront type place

Not my favorite. Anyway, I don't consider that a burrito joint/taqueria. It's a lot more pretentious than that. I go across the street to Pueblito with the streetwalkers.

I want Taco Bell to bring back the Taco Bell Grande. It was an airy, crispy shell that was discontinued years ago because it was prone to breakage in preparation.

The Volcano burrito was my favorite past item. The MP is $4.50 by me and I’ve heard as much as $5.70 elsewhere. Not worth it.

 When it first came out decades ago, it was called the "Pizazz Pizza." Then they eventually changed it to "Mexican Pizza." In today's world, I'm surprised they didn't re-introduce it as Pizazz.

True story, back when I used to work in Stone Park at a lighting warehouse, the village forbid us from selling red colored bulbs for a while.

Another colossal management mistake...they are pulling Mexican Pizza due to "high demand" and it won't be back until fall.

The best "Mexican Pizza" was the Kamoosh at La Chosa on Howard & Paulina. I've never seen anything like it elsewhere. The most reasonable facsimile is Pepe's Garnachas.

The only tike that taco bell isn't repulsive is when you're fucking hammered. Or hung over.

There aren't many left. I miss the one at Devon & Western. I don't consider it Mexican but it's leagues beyond Taco Bell. And Garnachas are pretty awesome. Not as good as Kamoosh though.

Probably on 159th just east of Harlem. The one in Burbank wasn't too bad. The one on 111th in Worth sucks.

Its not a bad joint. They have a carryout deal for 10 tacos, rice & beans, chips & salsa for like $22. Last time we dined in over the winter they had 24oz Modelo drafts for $4.50 on special.

What is that sauce on the Garnachas? How would you make that at home?

(cannot wait for the mature replies to that)
