I think we have to take these trends with a grain of salt. I'm sure that there were more that 1% gays in 1947. The polls probably weren't terriy accurate because of the social stigma associated with that lifestyle. And the 20% + today is probably lower. Its trendy to be gay. It's being advertised as the greatest thing in the world right now. Watch anything other than a sporting event and you'll find gays or whatever in half the ads. If every other ad featured a cowboy I'm sure we'd have aot more kids wanting to be cowboys. As much as it's not great to say it, kids are pretty stupid and easily
influenced. They're being trained to respond to those polls in the manner they're responding to them.

Many that is true, but an incomplete statement.

Our community is no different from the rest of the country/industrialized world. Seacrest and I have been a board "joke" for almost 20 years because the number of kids we have is more than 2. Others in our community have chosen to skip the breeding process for various reasons. We don't mock or question them. We consider their lack of breeding to be more manly. Just like our country does.

That's wrong though. You and Seacrest have fulfilled your duty to humanity. I have not. That certainly isn't "manly." It's actually childish and extremely selfish. Sadly, there are MANY like me. I freely admit my selfishness. My lack of reproduction is not soy-related.

You may view it this way, but our community and society haven't for decades.

But it MUST be thought of that way. Think of the alternative. If everyone were like me, this would be the final generation.

I think the bigger concern is why young people aren't having sex. I'm being glib about soy, but there may actually be some physical issue with these younger generations and it only seems logical that something they are putting in their bodies is the culprit.

I'm probably as old as a person can be who had a diet during my formative years that didn't consist of 100% "real" food. It was somewhat worse for a typical American of your age. Today's kids are being loaded with God knows what kind of chemicals.

I don't think that is entirely true. I believe that it's just not the folks that our society would prefer. I think most of that comes from the pressure parents and society puts on them to do well and not procreate at a young age. The intimacy still exists.

Maybe I'm too optimistic of a person, but I think humanity will be fine when it comes to baby making.

well, yeah, because only about 3% of that 20% is telling the truth. They will grow up and out of the phase, rediscover themselves and heed the call of the wild.

Having kids is the biological imperative and both Dwarkins and Pope Francis would agree on this.

Heck, I sit here on the edge of old cootdom, and I'd love to have more.

It's about 3-4% in any given population

It's not the people; it's the resources to feed them. No one has developed the magic pill to feed and hydrate us all.

There are plenty of resources to feed and hydrate all of us and then some. Greed and the wealth gap prevent that from happening.

Bill Gates alone could fund the means to hydrate areas lacking fresh water supply.

I'm glad Bill Maher found an edgy topic to crack jokes at. He's not wrong, but he's also saying very little. Just gaslighting.
Fuck Bill Maher.
