I see on reddit a lot of fans so offended by vader killing innocents.

Well, Vader during these years is supposed to be a cold blooded killer. I remember in the 90s reading some SW books before the prequels came out and they described this. Even some of the recent comics. He is suppose to be a serial killer for the empire.

Also, I remember reading in those books that Vader hunted 20 years for OB1 but was unable to find him. I guess they changed that storyline.

And ya, maybe this vader is more like 6'1, not 6'4 but he should be a foot taller.

Rumors of a changed ending to this season, and a season 2 green light.

If true it would be great to bring back Darth Maul and put that storyline on film with the Ezra Bridger character, who I heard may be appearing in Ahsoka.

i think it would have been fine ending it in one season if they had an ending that made sense w/ the later movies.

A lot of good that episode. Ben and Leia had much better chemistry than the 2nd episode. The friendly bus driver voiced by Zach Braff was entertaining. A stormtrooper got cut in half. Unhinged neck snapping Vader had some menace. I liked the quiet droid that was ready to brain the stormtroopers if needed.

Still some bad though. Reva still underwhelming. Man that Vader fight sucked. Sure, Obi-Wan is mentally toast so we’re not expecting a Obi-Wan-Vader on Mustifar or Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon/Maul quality fight, but that doesn’t mean the fight should be visually lame and boring. You could convince me that Vader obviously let him go instead of just walking through the fire or force grabbing him or whatever, but a minute earlier Vader was happy to roast him alive and could just do it again.

Vader wants him to suffer. He senses how broken and pathetic Ben is and wants to find out who is helping him. Who he cares about so he can kill them and watch Ben suffer some more. He knows Ben can not beat him in a fight and enjoys fucking with his mind. Like a cat playing with a mouse.

That's a perfectly fine assumption I'd agree with, but as filmed, he was going to torture him death right then and there and a wimpy fire would in no way have prevented him from continuing with that. If something of note happened between those moments that gave any impression that something in his mind changed, that would have been been great and helpful, but it's not like we love Star Wars because of it's flawless writing.

I think Vader's mind changed when the girl tries to save Ben. After he puts the fire out, he says, "bring him to me." Then the girl shoots the storm trooper and starts the fire.

Maybe at that moment Vader senses in the force Ben hiding something (His two kids), and the rebel alliance and wants to learn more by following them.

We already know Vader knows Luke is his son in the first movie, but we don't know how he knows Luke is his son.

Then again, it could just be lazy writing and Jar Jar Binks comes back and says, "Annakin, pppppleaase don't kill me, I know a seeeecret!"

Yeah Vader sensed a bigger play when he saw Kenobi get saved.

IMO

Vader sensed it would be a good shot if he just stood there menacingly with the fire reflecting off his eye lenses.

 Maybe he had a panic attack PTSD. The breathing (wooooh kaaaahhh) could be his inhaler.

In a show with PTSD as a theme we can work with it.

I thought this episode was just ok. No idea what the next few have in store. Hopefully more Vader.

Good grief Obi-Wan’s disguise at the end was immersion breakingly laughable. Reva seems better, not great. While Reva certainly is tracking Obi-Wan, it sure didn’t sound like Vader was, still annoying me about letting him go the previous episode. Everything being blue screen (not just in this series) continues to underwhelm. Although specifically this episode it seemed cheaper than the other episodes.

With 2 episodes to go it’s nowhere close to the Madalorian in quality. I think there’s something to be said for Mando being an original story the writers/producers wanted to tell, whereas Obi-Wan is a show they’re doing because the fans wanted to see Hayden and Ewan again. Which, hey, I’m absolutely down with that, but the writing doesn’t seem as inspired.

interesting. i guess the plot ending up being the rescue threw me a bit and im not sure how the end will bridge the remaining time gap. but overall ive been entertained. really all i can ask for.

my overall feeling is that I watch these because they are star wars. if they weren't star wars there is no way in hell I'd watch this. You could even throw in Fett and even to a point, Mando.

yeah the base where we store jedi's our sworn enemies a la jurassic park style has no shields or defenses.

Prequels/side stories normally aren't very good in any format. That's why The Mandalorian worked so well. Two unique characters starting from scratch.

Kenobi is basically filling in the gap of time where Obi-wan seemingly doesn't do much of anything besides hide in the worst place in the world to hide from Darth Vader.

I continue to maintain that a series detailing the Emperor's back story (how did he become a Sith? how did he become so powerful? how did he hatch his plan to take down the Republic?) or the origin and evolution of the Sith would make for good additions to the Star Wars universe. Also, since the Jedi and Sith have a long-standing conflict, it could also potentially work well to explore earlier conflicts between the two in other series.

The upcoming Tales of the Jedi series would have been a good opportunity for that, but it will just be about Filoni’s waifu Ashoka and Count Dooku.

The popular YouTuber Star Wars Theory always brings up the rise of Palpatine/Darth Sidious when he is asked what Star Wars content he wants to see Disney make.

I tend to agree.

Especially since his master Darth Plagueis was a badass from everything I’ve read.

Would be nice to see their backstory together.

do the people who have produced Star Wars over the years purposely hire the most hateable child actors?

I think the bigger issue I have and maybe people don't agree but oh well is that the Clone Wars animated series was pretty fantastic and laid the groundwork for these series and therefore that's the expectation we go off of.

I think the best thing for the star wars universe is what you've said. get away from the original story line (s). give us back stories and even give us stuff like knights of the old republic type time periods.

I thought episode 5 was pretty good overall if you continue to believe that Stormtroopers are some of the worst shots in the galaxy. They revealed a big part of the story that MANY of you had called out after the first few episodes. Looking forward to the finale and hope it’s at least an hour long. Enjoyed a lot of Vader in this one.
