Comcast will have Lou's press conference after the game.

I bet he goes nuts after a reporter's question. It will be one for the books. He's gonna explode.

No - Cotts is in mop-up duty. Vazquez starts game #1 as his 4th "big start" in a row.

BTW - which is the worst contract right now? Vazquez or Marquis?

I wonder what Dave Kaplan is going to say on the cubs post game today? Yesterday he said "its ok...its just game 1" and "blame the fans". I'm tired of this team. I'm sick of hearing Santo's "this is the year" stuff.

Yes - they're boooing - it actually sounds like a constant low grumble/boo.

Well I really thought if we lost tonight it would be all on the shoulders of Z, but it sure didn't go that way. The defense let him down at every opportunity.

Right. The same sort of hurt that is suddenly losing a sure victory that would send you to the world series.

With an average defensive performance, he goes 7 and gives up no more than 3 runs. Of course, note, even if that happened, they still would have lost.

Anyone listening to WGN? I wonder how Santo is taking this game? Yesterday he said that he felt real good about this post-season. I knew the cubs were in trouble when he said that.

Not even close. At least you can hide Cotts in the pen, whereas Vazquez is trotted out every 4-5 days to suck.

Fixed it - you had the number of days wrong.

As a Sox fan, I would trade Vazquez for Marquis tomorrow. I am tired of the same guy frustrating me for 3 years.

Just got home, but I though Z was solid. If DeRosa makes the easy play he doesn't give up a run til the Manny homer, same with the Lee play. Once again it was a night of swinging at pitches in the dirt or a foot off the plate. I see there making a small run in the 9th, but most likely to late. The bullpen has sucked so far. I believe every reliever has given up a run except Wood. Love how Lee gets hits when nobody is on. The first inning really hurt with Soriano on 2nd no out, and you can't score him.
