i just pulled out everything. its going to get a lot worse. until gas prices come down and feds stop raising interest rates, we wont be seeing gains in the markets. and thats likely a year away at least.

as far as doge and bitcoin... i wonder if companies will continue to accept as payment. at this point, they have lost their ass on that unless they always converted as soon as they had a sale.

i have trump ahead of reagan based on illegal immigration. reagan and the repubs at the time, turned their heads away at illegal immigration. it was such a big joke at that time that genesis' 'illegal alien' was a novelty hit. reagan did what the establishment wanted - gave them amnesty in 1986 in exchange for 'now we're really going to enforce immigration law'. right. i entered the workforce in 1984, joined a union and was told by the union that the democrats are 'our' party because they fought against illegal immigrants, cheap labor source. how times have changed.

one reason why the chamber of commerce broke with trump and now has squishy pants in it's pocket. imagine the chamber of commerce breaking with a repub president. unheard of, until trump.

i wasn't a big fan of reagan and no fan at all of any repub president after. to me, trump was the anti-establishment guy, the guy everyone with 10+ years in politics hated, because they were all bought and paid for by the establishment.

Bush 2 is the worst, but Biden will be passing him very soon.

I will say that other than the Patriot Act, Bush 2 wasn't too terrible, but I'm aware that's like saying "other than the dog shit in my big Mac, it was a decent burger"

Bush, Cheney, and co. letting 9/11 happen, wrecking the Middle East, implementing torture as common practice, allowing the rise of the military contractor apparatus, and boosting the surveillance state to unprecedented levels have all been disastrous actions both federally and internationally.

Also, a million dead Iraqis.

Edit: Also #2, his administration let the housing crisis fester and ultimately collapse without regulating the insanely risky loan practices that were happening since Clinton was in office.

I don't know. The country was pretty unified after 9/11, President unifier is not at all unifier. GW never tried to make me or anybody else go get a shot we don't want and afaik didn't want to take guns away from people. What Biden did in Afghanistan is probably as bad as Iraq, we'll see how Ukraine plays out. Food didn't cost a billion dollars, my grocery shelves were stocked, there was formula available to feed my kids, people could express opinions without a disinformation board deciding if that was okay, we could acknowledge there were men and women and there were differences between them, gas was not $6 and the green new deal was not a thing.

I don't know what the next 5 years will hold but I don't think it's good. It could literally be a total collapse of society. Money might be completely worthless. And this administration is telling me I'm just not getting the message. The economy is great, so many jobs, and whatever else they put out. I've never felt like this.

2008 was an existential crises for almost all of us. Older people had no ability to recover their retirement. It was our Great Depression and I think it has affected our habits to this day.

and we are still living in a post 9/11 world

You can make an argument the Bush II administration has had the most lasting impact on this country since FDR or Kennedy/Johnson.

i don't disagree that w was a not-so-good president. i look at clinton and him getting onboard and signing into law - repealing much of glass-steagall. that's not on bush, that's on clinton and congress at that time, who were getting greased by the bank lobby.

one of the incidents that showed me that the elite run this nation through their established politicians. his wife's decision to immediately get onboard with the hideous TPP is another example of how this political dynasty was bought and paid for.
