2 on in the second, and Heyward gives his standard fruity flyout to 2nd.
Ok cool.
Next half inning he half asses a pop up in foul ground long enough for Villar to miss it coming in at a sharp angle. Ball was up there forever and Heyward just kinda jogged in, no effort and it drops a few feet in front of him. He's totally checked out.

I'm not sure they get 2 on the bobble play but that pop-up should have been easy with a little hustle from your gold glove can't do shit but play defense supposedly 150 million dollar waste of o2 right fielder.

Yeah no way they get a double play.

I was referring to the dropped foul ball and the bobble on the grounder.

I agree Heyward should have given more effort. But Villar was clearly calling for the ball and was right there. He should have caught the ball.

Heyward had a much better line. The ball was in front of him. That was his play. He didn't call for it agreed but that's his play.
Of course booger or whatever this fat bastards name is is fellating him for making the catch he did manage to make like it was Jesus christ materializing right out of a dead virgin Mary vaginer.

Catch that should be made gets a "what a catch! " Freeze It. Looks like he went back 12 feet.

Killian is totally lost out there. Hopefully this will be a good learning experience - he can't get to three balls on every other hitter, even on a AAAA team like Pittsburgh.

Looked like he overran toward center and had to adjust at the last second.

Best ability it’s availability I suppose.

Well unless you have a .230 OBP and on pace for 170ks

Javy looks like he’s completely forgotten how to make contact

3x weak ass contact for Heyward. This time leaves 2 on base. Its cool. He's a great speechwriter.

This guy is the face of a failed attempt at sustained success. And we're being spoon fed how amazing a guy he is and that sickens me.

He's a sunk cost, but I can't believe he is still on the roster. If I'm David Ross, I'm playing him everyday til he's gone.

That's just it. You can't embarrass him off the roster. He's just as fine as paint sucking hard-core. He gave a speech. He's untouchable.

It's repulsive that this is what we're paying for. This is why the cubs don't play prospects. This is why there's less money for free agents and keeping veterans like Darvish.

I dont get the obsession with Heyward.

I hate him too.

But I hardly ever notice him.

He hits 8th. He gets only 3 ABs a game (not 4).

There's plenty of other shit to talk about on the Cubs.

And he is a tiny fraction of the reason the Cubs are bad.

Pirates 7 runs on only 3 hits.

Wonder how many times that's ever happened in MLB.

Ross is really starting to concern me. Either he is letting Heyward make himself look like a fool, is being forced to play him by management or is completely blind to just how bad he is. He refused to play Clint Frazier because of Heyward and now they recalled Nelson Velasquez and he flat out said he would be a pinch hitter in the Clint Frazier mold with Heyward getting the regular starts in right. Nelson got a hit tonight which is more than can be said for the guy who couldn't get it out of the infield in 3 of 4 at bats.

Fuck Clint Frazier.

Another retread reject. What do we want these dumbfucks for?

Heyward is playin because Suzuki is hurt.

Frazier would be just as bad. Tired of parading in 10 million rejects each year. It's like we have no integrity anymore. Hoyer has completely watered down the history of the club with his bullshit the last few years. 65 and 70 players on the roster. Fuck that.

Hoyer Wednesday at 9. This should be excellent. Kap doesn't have to be a prick. Just discuss fans concerns. If Hoyer goes vague & philosophical then I'd call him out that fans are sick of that bs.

What exactly would you like to hear come out of his mouth that one could also reasonably expect him to say?

Better yet. Why even turn into the cubs right now period. Let alone this interview? I’m genuinely curious, given that it’s summer and there are more ways than ever to be entertained these days, why watch bad baseball on purpose? I have Ricketts the benefit of the doubt when he wasn’t spending money in 2020 and 2021 but now it’s just negligence at this point. And Hoyer is clearly either in over his head or at odds with Ricketts philosophical but wants the money and the job so he’s being a good soldier publicly and taking the billets.

Have we heard the actual GM speak this season? I could say if he’s said more than 10 words or not.

This roster is trash and the organization won’t get my attention until they start trying to win again. Cuz this ain’t it
