Ok I’m back on board.

That was just enough.

I hope they can finish this thing strong. I really have no idea what direction they will go with it right now.

Disappointing.

I don't really understand the whole Third Sister thing. She goes from villain to ally to villain, and of course they leave her alive so she'll be back for the final episode and may even get her own spinoff (completely undeserved).

Leia fixing the wiring was ridiculous.

Best part was the training duel with Anakin and Kenobi.

Didn't have time to watch the finale this morning. I will try to get it done by this afternoon if possible. Based on some descriptions of write ups it sounds like at least some plot holes get closed up and I didn't see any negatives out there. They need a strong finish to save this mini-series.

The whole Third Sister story made no sense.

I liked how they alternated between Darth and Anakin’s voices when Obi split open his mask.

It was background noise overall. Vader was the best part of the series but the plot holes were so ridiculous as to be insulting to the viewer. The (spoiler…) Vader split helmet scene with the voice modulation was very cool.

I’ll watch next season but will complain about it.

I mean goddamn sprinkle a little Grogu in the Jedi temple flashback scene, so you have some connective tissue with the other major Disney+ Star Wars property.

Actually introduce Quinlan Voss, or another relevant Jedi.

Use the inquisitors already established in canon to replace Reva.

The whole show should have focused on Vader and Kenobi like it was marketed to be.

At least Andor is getting good hype I guess.

Why was Liam Neeson uncredited? Was Qui-Gon completely CGI?

I give it a C+. Fun to see the characters back and a couple of the battles between Vader and Kenobi were fun to watch but it really didn’t do much else. Unless they bring Darth Maul or some of the other Rebel Characters into this I’d suggest not doing another season.

Most of it was pretty bad, but I still enjoyed it.

Disney is really missing the opportunity to tell interesting stories about the Dark Side, the Sith, the conversion of Jedi into Inquisitors, the Emperor-Vader relationship, etc.

***Spoiler Below****

Regarding the final episode, how could Obi Wan pass up the opportunity to kill Vader? That made absolutely no sense to me.

I didn't get that either. Vader was basically back to "normal" in the next scene, and able to wreak the havoc we all know happens in the future.

I also thought Kenobi (and Owen/Beru) showed too much mercy on Reva. She tried to kill them and then they immediately forgave her because she had second thoughts on killing Luke?

friend of mine and i were discussing that too. I think Kenobi had just decided to let go of whatever he had left in hopes for Anakin and his guilt - maybe even thought the busted helmet would kill him. Then, Vader is basically put into a position to forget about pursuing Obi Wan from what the Emperor says to him afterward.

Kind of a soft explanation as to how it goes another 10 years before their final battle on the Death Star.

What hurt this show the most was that Stranger Things s4 and The Boys s3 is so much better written and produced.

Kenobi is amateur hour compared to those two shows.

If he killed Vader then he knows Luke/Leia would follow the same path as Anakin. Why do you think he lets Vader kill him while Luke is watching years later? Kenobi was "reborn" when he came out of the rocks. That scene was the force balancing itself again.

That is why he was able to finally see Qui Kon. Enjoyed this series and looking forward to the next season.

In writing they already start behind the 8 ball because we know Vader, Kenobi, Luke, and Leia will be fine. Doesn’t mean it can’t be interesting, but you have to write it really well to get any tension. That leaves the non trilogy characters to carry some dramatic weight, but they didn’t.

Ice Cube’s kid carries a ton of weight.

Cuz he’s fat. He’s a fat guy. Big wasted joke potential on his inability to fit in that vent.

The Emperor...

Seems like a weak rationale given that Vader and the Emperor execute a galaxy-wide killing spree for the next decade. Also, it doesn't seem like Obi Wan had the fate of Luke or Leia in mind when dueling Vader. Finally, it seems like Qui Gon was visible to Obi Wan because he had recommitted himself to the force, not because of any special balancing act.

I also doubt Vader would believe that burying Kenobi in the rocks was certain death. He was so obsessed, he would have wanted to see proof.

Spoilerish again…

The way the emperor negged Vader out of his Kenobi vendetta in like 5 words was such a ridiculous way to explain away the gap between encounters. They almost literally hand waved one of their biggest, most obvious plot holes.

“Hey, why didn’t Vader continue to look for Kenobi?”

“Well you see, one time the Emperor implied Vader was a little bitch for caring about revenge so Vader dropped it.”

I did like the tribute to Roe vs. Wade when the mean lady changed her stance to to pro-life at the end.

Killing spree would have happened with or without Vader. Third brother looked more then willing to take over for Vader if he died.

What? His whole purpose in life is to protect the children. He literally gives his life so Luke can become the Jedi his father could not. Anakin, Luke and Leia are what brought him out from under the rocks. He absolutely would have been thinking of them while fighting Vader. If he kills Vader, then he can not be the martyr for Luke to keep him on the path of light. The emperor would have told Luke his mentor killed his father, pushing Luke over to the darkside. Remember how close Luke already was to giving into the darkside of the force. Kenobi dying was instrumental to keep him on the Jedi path. He didn't grow up learning about the Jedi or surrounded by them. All he knew is what he was told by Kenobi and later Yoda.

Finally, it seems like Qui Gon was visible to Obi Wan because he had recommitted himself to the force, not because of any special balancing act.

You miss the whole point of how the force works. It always balances out. That is why Anakin was born and turned to the dark and why Luke was the savior of the light. You see it later with Ben Solo and then Rey turning the tides back to light.
