For a guy who never knew if he was playing or not, with the Cubs his game appeared in from 16 to 19 was 132, 152, 130 and he had 323, 479 and 363 plate appearances those three seasons. Not bad for a guy who was the 4th outfielder (and maybe even 5th considering they were playing Bryant out there more than a little bit too)

He was never an on base guy, even in minors. I want to say one of the complaints was he made bad contact too often on pitches he should take which lowered his average and extra base potential but who knows, I could be imagining that.

It’s odd that Julie complains about safety and harassment when someone calls her fat yet I’ve never seen her say how wrong it is that Libs receives literally dozens of death threat tweets per day .

When I was in my mid 20's, I worked sales for a supplier of construction materials. The job was absolutely brutal. I was being screamed at by job supers and project managers about things I had 0 control over pretty much on a daily basis. the owner of the company was basically always screaming at us that he was going to be penniless if we weren't basically doing everything we could do to screw over the customer. i was miserable in the evenings and weekends were awful because monday was coming.

I would take late lunches and go to the library down the street and read the WSJ and just sit there in this really nice Lifestyle brand recliner they had in various areas. It was my brief escape from the hell I was living. by the time lunch was over, there was only a few hours left in the day.

A few years ago, we needed to go to that library for some reason and I walked over to that spot and it greeted me like an old friend.

Construction was a real survival test back in the '80s. It was screaming all day long.

Still a fair amount of screaming from owners and project managers. In my experience, I would have to say that about 75% of the yelling is due to their own ineptitude and/or failure to reply to emails asking simple questions.
