One of my favorite places the Cubs play.

Love watchin' the late night baseball.

I miss those 9:35 PM starts. But 9:10 aint too bad either.

Last time the Cubs were in LA?

They kicked off a 10 game losing streak which deluded Bully Hoyer to the point of caving in to media pressure to trade great players and forfeit a division title. Fuck him.

They won game 1 (4-0), and then lost the last 3.

What will happen this time?

Dodgers on a 6-1 homestand, on the heels of a fuckin 6-3 road trip. Mookie Betts has just returned from injury.

Dodger Stadium is one of the worst NL stadiums. I will concede that is cool the way it is built into the hill.

dumb move to take Kimbrel out.

He had great stuff and command. Cubs were just making him work with some GREAT AB's.

One thing is for sure is all the uncertainty. Low level minor league prospects are penciled in as perennial all-star caliber. Hoyer is trusted to make spending choices after letting Schwarber go, but signing fragile diva Stroman? Thompson, Steele, and Efross will be durabile despite limited innings histories. Heyward could be here through his contract to muddy playing time being Ross' butt buddy.

Terrible loss. But it's the kind of a loss that tells u ur a bad team.

In otherwords, the craziest shit happened and the ball didnt bounce ur way.

As Sutcliffe said, the rarest shit happened: run scored on Suzuki dropped flyball, Jake Lamb HR, and Robertson blowing a save.

also, cubs up 3-0: happ on 3rd with 1 out. gets mowed down at the plate on a come-backer to the pitcher by suzuki. failure by suzuki hitting and bad baserunning by happ. happ bulled into anderson at the plate - who was obviously angry at happ.

a meaningless run? no. many other games we've seen the cubs fail in similar situations and end up losing in extra innings. hard to remove the losing baseball culture, that quickly returned to clark & addison.

JD has an elderly father who may be in questionable health. If he wants to skip LA and have Sutcliffe drive up from San Diego instead, sure.

Interesting the position player mentoring/leadership phenomenon talk has pretty much dried up. How are the mentored reacting to the leadership vacuum? Does the great one keep in touch from the French Riviera?

Someone please take Wick out behind the barn already. He has been dogshit this entire season. At this point losing while having the few future talents playing well is the name of the game but this asshole has been terrible.

Hilarious Ross robotically shuffles relief pitchers in and out with no thought if a guy going out is successful replacing him with a 5 era guy. Then, Sutcliffe is shocked the 5 era guy gets rocked. Good fun during a tank. But, this robotic managing would be insufferable if they were actually trying to win.

Levine was his usual smug self this morning, talking about how Thompson and Steele are signs that the Cubs are now developing pitchers. Hey Bruce, hate to break it to ya, but these guys are not Gooden and Clemens. Or Syndergaard and deGrom. They’re serviceable pieces.

Steele and Thompson have been pretty damn good and that is a great sign for the organization. They have both been dominant with quality starts the last month. They don't fall into luck, they both can deal and have been. While they are not HOF players they are very good starting pitchers right now.

Thompson, Steele, and Efross have been pleasant surprises, But, they're on one of the historically worst MLB organizations developing, and maintaining young homegrown pitchers. Also their generation (as Dempster touched on with Bozo Bruce) of pitchers played year-round baseball and experienceed grueling throwing training demands adding milege and bringing future durability in question.

Ross is on his 18th pitcher of the series. He's backed himself into a corner only starting the 4th inning of the game if it remains close and crazy. Position players can only pitch in 5 or more run leads.

Is there anything about sabermetics Boog doesn't know?

wisdom was due the throwing error (2nd most NL 3B 10 errors) and all the unearned runs that followed with 2 out. cubs pitching was weak today, but - not 11 runs weak. just more definitive negative moments from individual cubs players as to why they lose on a particular day. urias was upset at lux defensive play in LF, i'm sure wisdom isn't thrilled that he throws to schwinnie, rivas and bote at first. if they can't dig out throws then you need to make better throws, consistently.

morel cooling down, hoerner 3-5. i'm rooting for him to be an above average MLB player. rooting for both.

the dodgers have their hands full against the pirates, the dodgers sweep the season series against the cubs. 7-0.

It's really somethin', we got swept 4 games, but u wouldn't know it by the way we competed and had leads in almost every game.

We gave em our best shot today, Dodgers are just a stacked team.

Ian Happ makes the All-Star game. NOBODY gave a shit last year when he was hitting .179 on July 31, but I believed in him, he slayed the last 2 months of this season and has blossomed again this year. He's the type of guy that needs to play everyday so he can figure things out. Before he stifled as a utility type guy with no consistent position.

I hope we keep him. GREAT player and GREAT role model.

Mully, Haugh & Larry have been trumpeting during the pre-LA series that the Cubs are playing a smarter, more enjoyable style of ball than the Sox. How is rooting for a tank team to lose more enjoyable than watching a team who with all their faults still has a playoff shot? Over and over with the TLR hate. Nobody wants him to manage the Sox but Jerry. But, I still root for the Sox to win. I actually think the Score trash is rooting for the Sox to lose mostly because of TLR NFL kneeling views. F the Score trash.
