Sounds like JORR is an emerging prophet of the plutocracy!

Possibly. He credibility on voting matters is suspect.

JORR recognizes that like each condo unit, each state is a separate entity.

I agree with that. But when AZ, GA, and WI certify their election results, do you trust those entities?

It depends on whether they adhered to legal voting procedures as opposed to flooding the state with ballots due to an "emegency."

let me think about that one for a while. Initially, I don't think it works 1:1.

the condo's creation isn't by assent. Rather than many becoming one, like the US, the condo is one becoming many in its origin.

This doesn't address the fact that the model you are evidently endorsing gives a greater voice to larger property owners than smaller ones.

Highly democratic!

I'm not sure you do recognize each state as a separate entity. Under the constitution the states have the autonomous authority to decide on how to select their electors. They can do so by popular vote, they can do so by letting the most entertaining clown in the state chose, each state has the autonomy as to how to choose electors. That is why some states split their electors (Nebraska, Maine), and in the past some states have chosen electors by state legislators, the states can chose how to select their electors.

Therefore, if a state feels that flooding the state with ballots for any reason, is the proper way for that state to select the electors, you, as someone who recognizes each state as a separate entity, should be agreeable to each separate state's method for choosing electors as they deem fit as directed by Article 2 of the Constitution.

Election shenanigans and cheating are as American as Zack Wilson's Mom's cream pie and the Toyota
Camry
. If voting shenanigans invalidated elections, we wouldn't even have a freaking Constitution; as the amount and character of cheating that took place to get the Constitution ratified dwarfs anything we could pull off today. If your side lost an election due to cheating (and it's highly likely they did if it's an American election), cheat better next time.

A state does have such a right. What it does not have is the right to establish such procedure on the fly without input from the voters.

If the citizens of a state do not like the decisions that their state elected officials made regarding the selection of electors, then those elected officials can be voted out of office. This is a representative democracy and the citizens of each state chose their representatives, again, if they didn't like the decisions of those representatives, they have remedies for that through the state election process.

It's amazing how he's changed (& is completely hypocritical) depending on the last crackpot theories that he got from nitwits on Twitter.

I wonder if this will continue to work though. I feel like it used to be we mostly had the same goals and values as a society but different ways of trying to get there. We could live under each other's rule no matter how it shook out. With the goings on of say the last 5 years I'm not sure that's true anymore. People are trapped, even if temporary, and that's not good for society.

I can't remember what book it was in but there was a quote that was something like "For some reason people like to hear the world is going to end." You could pick any newspaper in any city during any time over the last 250 years of the USA and you're likely to find something similar to the above. The world, economy, country, city, etc. is going to shit. Look things aren't linear, nobody is saying that, but history proves out that the trajectory of humanity has consistently improved. This is true, essentially, for everyone everywhere. Sure, I'd rather live in the United States today than Saudi Arabia, but I'd rather live in Saudi Arabia in 2022 than 1900.

But that delicious pessimism is irresistible. We are all prone to give into the narrative of negativity, but statistically zero percent of catastrophic predictions throughout the course of history have proven to be true, if for no other reason than pessimism gets way more ink, than optimism or stoicism.

I think you've said something like that to me before.

All I know is I can't wait to move for a number of reasons and we as a society can't agree on what a woman is, if there should be drag shows and gender/sexual related topics in schools, and people want to end fossil fuels and have us eating bugs. I don't find this tenable. I don't think we are going to be able to exist under these conditions. Maybe the world won't end but we are not improving right now. We are becoming more and more divided and not just on policy but actual foundations of society. I don't know why you think things will be fine.

watch less youtube...you have eaten no more bugs than anyone else; drag queens aren't coming for your kids, but watch out for your kid's teacher or pastor, perverts one and all; you'll be gassing up with fossil fuels until the day they put you in the ground.

Why would you want to live there

Not if I can't afford the gas. And it's clear they are trying to get rid of it and don't give a shit about the consequences.

I think there will be an issue with food. I don't know how bad it will be here but it's also clear there is a plant based agenda.

My husband likes TX but he's rethinking it. I have others on my list and several I want to check out.

Don't stray too far from a natural water source. For all the talk about eating plants and bugs, and climate change, the water crisis in the west to going to be a true disaster sooner rather than later.

Not once the Electoral College is gone and California votes for the Great Lakes Pipeline.
