Yzerman trying to leap-frog some teams in the Atlantic:



Plus they signed that Blues goaltender who is best known for getting lit up by the Avs in the playoffs this year, Husso. Probably not enough to make a deep playoff run but should get the younger players some Stanley Cup playoff experience, even if it's a 1st round exit.

Ugh. Having the Blues be good lately has been bad enough. I cannot stand the thought of the Dead wings being good again.

Holding pattern moves by Yzerman while they wait for Cossa to be ready. Also people say it's to keep Larkin and Bertuzzi from bolting in free agency after next season; but considering they've won fuck-all so far and they're in their late 20's, I wouldn't be surprised to see Yzerman trade either or both of them at the deadline to get back players more on Cossa's timeline.

Need the East to be a Beast so Tampa Bay slides and Hawks get a better pick next year. Dare to dream I guess...

This was definitely a shocker. I'm glad for Columbus fans after having Panarin, Bob, and Duchene leave several years ago in free agency. Overall, Columbus is a team on the rise. They have done very well in the draft the last couple seasons, partly due to the Seth Jones trade, and have a loaded farm system. Kent Johnson, Cole Sillinger, David Juricek, and Denton Mateyuk are all guys to keep on your radar. And Johnny Hockey is going to help accelerate this rebuild dramatically. Good times ahead for Columbus.
