One of my dad's friends ran the visitor's clubhouse at Wrigley for years. He said Johnson stole a five dollar bill from a batboy's locker.

Shitty team in 1980 with Cliff Johnson and Barry Foote, managed by Preston Gomez and about 100 losses.

Mike Vail was a hell of a hitter with the Cubs in limited play for 3 years. (317 .347 .458 .804 114). Won a lot of games clutch late (risp 331, 324, 333). Of course traded him for bust Hector Cruz. Vail curiously wasnt anything special before or after his Cubs stint. What idiots for trading a guy who hit lights out at home. Guy was a holy terror at Wrigley (337 .365 .499 .864 191).

Only a real fan could wax poetic about Mike Vail. Respect.

i do remember off broadway's one hit - stay in time. i want to say i was in 8th grade when that was all you heard on the radio.

a few years later, another local band, the kind, had a local hit 'loved by you' and then they disappeared. could never get that booking with dick clark on american bandstand.

They had another lesser hit. I'm not sure the name of the song. "C'mon Mr. Moon. Don't bug out too soon. Full moon turn my head around and round."
