My white privilege is allowing me to be in the market to buy a hot tub. Anyone have one ? Need horror stories and recommendations. Looked at Tropic Seas Waikiki model today which seemed nice but reading up on it seems to have warranty issues.

There is always someone on Facebook looking to give away their hotub for free if you are willing to take it apart and haul it away, so I would say avoid this purchase.

If I were doing it , I don't know. Even high end jacuzzi brand is garbage. All hottubs are junk. The motors are open frame and all electronics are solely protected by gfci. They don't even use neutral wires on many of them. Not that you need neutral on 220v but it's just another safety layer so why not. Because it's junk that's why.

If I were doing it I would be very tempted to buy the cheapest model in the size I want, and replace all the motors with washdown equivalents. That alone would make me actually want to get in it. Plus you could put in stronger motors but I would be afraid of all the shit plumbing exploding.
