I am not sure they will beat Boston. While I will usually say having a few veterans is overated, that whole team is tested and plays its best when it really couints.

Rays are a great team, and have been all year long. They are now finally proving it to a nat'l audience.

I just wish it wasn't against my team :?

Agreed. Rays are better. That being said I still give the Sox a chance to win this thing. It will be tough and a long shot. But I give them a chance.

John Danks will come through in game 3. I'll guarentee that. Sox will score enough to win. We will have a game 4.

The Tampa Bay Rays are a great story this season, and I have to give this team a great deal of credit for what they've been able to accomplish this season. Of all the teams in the Major League Baseball playoffs, they're the one team I can actually cheer for if they send the White Sox home for the winter if they win tomorrow in Game 3. For the casual fan, the Rays don't have household names like the Red Sox have with David "Big Papi" Ortiz, the Angels with Torii Hunter & Vladimir Guerrero, and of course, Paul Konerko, Jim Thome & Ken Griffey, Jr. with our White Sox. The Rays are the better team, and they're playing like it... 8)

Do you mean actually scoring some runs? And swinging those things they call "strikes"?

Overall TB is the best team I have seen this year, win they win it all? Who knows (Except the Bookie Priest) but Boston/TB will be a great series to watch.

Tampa will not beat Boston. If TB gets by the White Sox, they will go down to Boston in five. Getting to the playoffs has been their World Series. Look at the dugout in the Chisox games. These guys are happy with what they have done already.

Well, I hope somebody does around here. Hope you guys have better luck.

Boston is going to beat whoever comes out of this series and win it all. But it would be nice of a chicago baseball team to win at least one playoff game.

I think the Sox will win today. The offense will put some runs on the board against Garza. Danks will hold down the TB offense enough and the bullpen will nail it down. I really feel this way and I'm not just saying it because if they win I get to go to the game tomorrow. 8)

Dewayne Wise is the Sox MVP in the series.

Yeah. A lot of people make fun of Wise. Including Bernsie. But that SOB has 5 RBI in this series. Danks has been awesome after the shaky start.

It's funny. You can't say the Quentin injury cost us this series if we lose it. Wise was his replacement. 3-run homer in game 1. 2 RBI, so far, in game 3. Maybe Quentin does better. Maybe not. But our RF has not been the problem.

Plus Wise got the stolen base before AJ's 2-out RBI. Forgot about that.

Holy cow!!! Sox got two runs across cuz of stolen bases (Wise and Anderson). Who the hell would have thought that would be the case?

Thing is, regardless of what happens to the Sox now, this season has been a success. They lose an MVP in Quentin, lost a proven veteran who was really throwing well in Contreras, and as small a piece as it may be, they have no true backup utility infielder. Yet here they are playing baseball in October. Talk about overcoming a lot.

Way to go SOX!

That was a masterpiece of a curveball to end the game there.

Sox can win this series. Tampa's good but their main advantage is the park they play in. We'd have to win a big road game in a dome (something we haven't proven we can do), but anything's possible.

That was an outstanding game by Danks-again. With Floyd going tomorrow, there is a realistic chance of this going back to Tampa. There has to be at least a bit of a shift of pressure onto Tampa, as they now have just tomorrows game, before facing elimination themselves. Besides Wise, Uribe had a nice contribution from a source not really expected by many to produce much. That 2 out RBI hit was big. Then, even though he did not come around to score, he stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. The bullpen did a nice job too. Nice to see baseball still being played by someone in Chicago.

only thing is, this has to go back to tampa...would have been nice if the sox could have taken a game down at the trop.

but they will at least make this a good series. i think jenks is just money in the 9th in the post season. give him a lead, he'll reward you.

Sox are scheduled for 4pm tomorrow. There won't be a Boston game tomorrow if they sweep tonight.

The Sox game will be pushed back to prime time if Boston wins here. 7pm start probably. You can see that's what TBS is gonna do cuz on their scroll they list the time for the Sox game as TBA. They want a prime time game. If the Sox are the only one playing it will be a prime time game.

Sonnanstine will be no picnic tomorrow. He dominated the Sox in the Juice Box but the Sox hit him pretty good in his 2 starts at the Cell.

btw- my sister called to tell me I have to go with my Nephew to some Confirmation practice tomorrow night (I'm his sponsor). I told her I can't because I'll be at the Sox game. That didn't go over very well. My Mom has called TWICE telling me I have to do this (while my Dad yelled in the background that I have to go to the game) and my brother called because he needs to know if I'm using the ticket. Do they actually think I'm going to miss a PLAYOFF GAME for this??
