The wonderful life of paying your left fielder 26 million a year to hit 8 home runs.

Since they moved him to leadoff, his OBP is over .400. I will definitely take that. Also, he went to a toe tap last week Tuesday and had big week. His numbers are on the way up, hopefully he gets some of the power back.

 The old, if you take away his bad numbers from his overall numbers, his numbers are good!

He wasn't going to be here next year, as they weren't going to pay him roughly 16M. I was hoping it would be this offseason, they moved up the timetable. I will give Stearns the benefit of the doubt, his trade record has been pretty good.

When has a "Championship" team traded their closer (at the deadline) though? Usually if you are "all in" you ride him till the end even if it means losing him for nothing. The return is "meh" you got back a pitcher from the Padres who shit the bed as a closer in the big leagues.

Taylor Rogers, - 31 year old reliever, he's terrible, reason why the Padres were in a market for a closer
Gasser - Padres seventh overall prospect, probably the best player return in the deal
Ruiz - Padres 28th ranked prospect
Lamet - Not even ranked

The greatest post season team ever, the 2005 White Sox, DFA'd their Opening Day closer on July 5th of that year. Then they lost their second closer to injury, and had a rookie closing big games through September and October.

Not a trade, but its an example of a Championship team rearranging their bullpen mid-season.

Maybe we'll be lucky and see the same thing with this year's Brew Crew!

Rogers will be gone after this year, we will see what he does. Lamet was 4th in the Cy Young voting in 20, they have to hoping they can get his form back to that and the other 2 will now be their 8th and 9th prospects in their organization. Again, Stearns has had success with trades, I give him the benefit of the doubt although it is very hard right now.

What team has a "WS rotation"?

Brewers

7. Milwaukee Brewers (Previously: 6)
The end of June delivered both positive and worrisome developments for the Milwaukee Brewers rotation. Brandon Woodruff is back and thanks to some mechanical adjustments, with in-depth detail provided by Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, he looks like an ace once again. It’s also promising that Aaron Ashby is returning, adding another electric arm to the staff

Trading one of your best players at the deadline while in 1st place is not really a bright move.

I was driving today and listened to the Cardinal broadcast of the Cub/Cards game. They were almost giddy at the thought of playing a Hader less Crew. It was pretty sickening.

Yeah, there was no way this was going to net a positive result. Pretty stupid move.

Good split against the Dodgers but this offense is still nowhere near consistent enough.

Yep a major problem when a team that should win a game loses to a shit team that Caller Bob roots for, for once, I agree.
