I don't remember the old Jeff. Was he one of the two that noticed Saul sitting on a bench in the mall one day?

Yes (actor Don Harvey)

Casting Buzz from Home Alone as that first guy was inspired. I had no idea that was him but it’s an absolutely perfect choice.

I didn't see next week's preview, but a co-worker said there were police lights at the house he broke into. It doesn't make sense why Gene was so adamant on following through on the cancer guy. He fired Buddy (risking him retaliating), it's been hours since the guy was drugged so he might wake up, and he breaks the door's glass -- not only possibly alerting neighbors but also ruining the plan of leaving no traces like they did with the others. It's like he wants to get caught.

The cameo of Walt and Jesse didn't do much for me. I wanted to see something that advanced or affected the story in some way. I suppose it is kind of cool from a symmetry standpoint that the same scene was in the "Better Call Saul" episode in BB and now the "Breaking Bad" episode of BCS.

I liked the foreshadowing of Gene's/Saul's death as they cut out of the BB scene and cut into Gene in bed.

I hope he rigs up his car with a giant remote controlled M60 and uses it to take down a sprawling neo-Nazi meth lab operating with impunity within eyeshot of a major metro, righting some wrongs from his personal life in the process.

Also would be nice to somehow include magnets in the process.

I always just thought of Jeff as the cab driver. I didn't realize he was also the guy in the mall.

Jeff No. 1 was an aggressive asshole.

Jeff No. 2 is a weak pussy.

I also read some speculation that the opening graphics were an omen. They usually have a colorful but out of focus pattern, but showed the "blue screen of death" on last's night's episode.

That blue screen has showed up the last two weeks. I think it's supposed to be someone watching old VHS tapes of Saul's commercials as the tapes slowly degrade.

I think they also had that for last week's episode.. Was wondering what that was implying but because they had Better Call Saul typed out in the blue screen, I didn't make that connection. Blue screen of death makes sense.

Interesting...maybe Huell? Or Kim (though I'm not sure if he had made any commercials by that time).

I will have to go back and watch for Jeff No. 1, he doesn't stand out to me, other than he was at the mall saying that Gene was Saul. Don't remember anything more about him.

Agree about Jeff #2.

He did make a few commercials prior to turning into Saul. Could be one of the crew he hired to do the filming/audio watching it after it's been reported the Feds were after him.

Saul dies next episode, goes to prison or runs off to Florida.

It seems out of character that he's willing to risk it all to rob a cancer patient.

apparently zee germans, through a translation, leaked what the audio was during the phone conversation between jimmy and kim. i thought they were trying to keep it vague that it was even kim he was talking to. i would've thought after years of being apart, it would've involved a lot more silence.

i wondered if jimmy's decision to stick it to the cancer guy may have also been a result of the phone incident. but they don't reference that like they reference his past with walt. like he wasn't going to make the same mistake again, etc.

Yeah, but I wouldn't think Saul would take his frustration out on another cancer patient just because he felt Walt ruined his life.

Okay, only two episodes left...some thoughts/predictions:

1. I can see Walt in another scene with Saul...either in Ed's basement or hidden in the truck. After all, Ed likely drove them both to Nebraska to drop Saul off before continuing to New Hampshire.

2. The title "Waterworks" is intriguing. I've read speculation it refers to another round of Gene fake-crying, perhaps if he's caught by police (maybe Marion learns his identity after doing some searches on the laptop he gave her). It could also refer to Kim's Florida sprinkler company, which might be a front for a different business. Water Works is also close to the Go To Jail spot in Monopoly. Saul might end up facing trial back in ABQ, with Bill Oakley as his defender (I read that the Oakley cases shown in the last episode are all things Goodman could be charged with).

3. The phone booth call with Gene and Kim could have been Kim telling him she was disgusted that Saul was helping a drug kingpin/murderer. Maybe we get a scene with her perspective of the call.

4. A NYT article from earlier this year mentions a "cat and mouse" game playing out at someone's house (assuming the cancer patient's), with Gene examining some expensive watches and other valuables.

Tonight's episode written and directed by Vince Gilligan.

That mid-season break or whatever really took the wind of this show's sails, no? This shit sucks post-break.

Yeah, agreed. It felt like Lalo and Kim both ended too abruptly and now it's directionless.

Holding out hope that the last two are great, but the odds seem to be against it.

Thought it was pretty decent. I’d have liked it better a couple episodes ago, but overall it was fine.

The slow pace and the black & white is a tough combo.

Good episode, though I thought they went a bit far with Kim's Florida persona.

I really wanted Kim to take Jesse home and have it be her who was throwing his clothes out the window when Walt first saw him on his ride-along.

I enjoyed Kim and Jesse's scene together, and got a kick out of the dramatic drag, puff and flick of the cigarette as she walked off into the rain. I imagine every actor dreams of doing that on-screen.

Couple good scenes and the Jessie and Kim chat was nice. But overall, I was bored. These last episodes compared with the last stretch of Breaking Bad is not even close. I am pretty much ready to be done with this thing and have to force myself to watch these episodes. When BB was coming to an end there was a can't wait excitement to see them.
