I recall this offense being a pleasant surprise.
1995 Bears 9-7. Erik Kramer starting QB.

Is there a quarterback from the 2021 class that's having a good camp?

The Bears are giving Braxton Jones every chance they can to be their starting LT.

Two 5th rounders! Wow!

Hoge and Jahns say Fields is late on almost all of his reads, struggles with accuracy, and hasn't looked like a legitimate starter at any point during training camp.

The offense also struggled in the seven-on-seven drill before the hurry-up, where Fields’ incompletions more than doubled the passes that were caught. Everything felt late. Receivers came open, but the passes weren’t thrown. Sometimes they were wide open. Receiver N’Keal Harry was left uncovered in the end zone because of broken coverage, but Fields overthrew him out of the corner of the end zone.

They're saying that the running backs look good.

The Bears are selling low on a second round pick because the new regime hates him that much and we're supposed to feel good that Ryan Pace got the quarterback position right? LOL

PS: I love when a beat reporter posts anything slightly negative concerning Justin Fields. Everyone goes ape shit. It's amazing that fans are able to put so much trust in a rookie quarterback when this organization hasn't developed a quarterback since? Ever?

Had the worst Oline/HC combo in the NFL last year, so hard to get a read on anyone who played on the offense last year, maybe one or two of the guys he inherited will be around next year.

If you watch the Braxon Jones vids from the Senior Bowl, you see a small school guy more than holding his own against NFL level college guys, raw, but will all the physical tools to play OT in the NFL.

Herb Howard seems to be emerging as one of the more reliable Bears reporters. His take on the practice today:

I have heard Howard with Bernstein and Larry. He seemed like he is a good reporter, enjoyed his thoughts

Grote said the TD was on a 4th down play, so while it's nice to score, it wasn't as smooth as this guy implied.

I try to wait for reports from a couple of objective reporters covering the Bears. There are far too many who have nothing negative to say.

From what I've heard, Herb Howard seems like the best overall analyst among the Bears beat reporters. Wiederer is pretty good, too. Hoge, Jahns, Biggs, Lieser, etc are inconsistent or worse.

Hoge and Jahns said the same thing yesterday. Pringle gets open but he drops a lot of balls.

That's sure to leave his teammates salty.

Not shocking. Vinnie is an idiot that writes for Fansided. I want to say he may be an exclusive White Sox blogger....with the worst trade ideas ever.

I don't think anything was implied about "smoothness" in the tweet above.

New Bears head coach in 2024 will be a "players coach' and they will all rejoice, amen.

Brad Biggs
@BradBiggs
Matt Eberflus on the demands of his defensive scheme on cornerbacks and them having to tackle: “There are no house guests here.

Maybe smooth was not the ideal word, but the offense was forced into a 4th down.
