Nah that dog ain't hunting this time. Spaulding excuses the "fact" that a leader of the Catholic Church says that it is "evil" to be homosexual and yet it is hate of the Catholic Church which leads someone to point this out?

Nah not this rip. That (reverse bigotry) trick is getting rather old now

It's not just the Catholic Church that forbids homosexuality. It's Christianity in general. I'm sure a guy with a brain as big as yours can quote Leviticus off the top of his head.

Nothing you just stated disproves anything that I happened to have stated, though I'm sure in that scatter shot brain of yours you believe that you have.
I'm not enthralled all that much with religion to be honest. Apparently you are though you profess to be an "atheist". And considering that actual clerics have openly questioned the "teachings" of the Catholic Church with respect to homosexuality, its safe to say my assessment was the correct one.

The Bible is one of the most important pieces of literature ever written. Probably just behind John Ashbery's Self-Portrait in a Convex Mirror.

Who are these "actual clerics" of whom you speak and why are they taking issue with the Word of G_d?

Should a person that by definition, does "not believe in the existence of God" actually be expressing confidence in the existence of God and his "word"? Just Asking A Question

VATICAN CITY, Feb 3 (Reuters) - A prominent liberal cardinal who leads a body representing European bishops has called for "fundamental revision" in Catholic teaching on homosexuality, and said it is wrong to fire Church workers for being gay.

The remarks by Luxembourg Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich to the German Catholic news agency KNA were among the most direct calls ever by a Roman Catholic leader for change in teaching on one of the most controversial issues in the Church today

The point isn't whether or not I believe something. It's whether or not such a widely held belief is a part of the framework for a good society. And if we largely dismiss the basis for such belief (as we are currently doing), what will replace it? Because man is going to have his religion. The only question is what that religion will be. Whether or not I believe in Christianity, one thing I know for certain, there are a lot worse belief systems that could inform a society.

There are a lot of other belief systems that frown upon homosexuality and worse. It's a death sentence in Muslim countries. Maybe you should ask yourself why so many cultures/belief systems frown upon homosexuality rather than attempting to demonize Catholics.

You should ask yourself why you are so quick to excuse the beliefs and teachings of Catholics in this regard? And also be so quick to accept their "demonization" of homosexuals.

And yes being an "Atheist" means that you are not supposed to espouse the word of God seeing as you do not believe that God exists. Something which in this case you conveniently ignored.

What do you mean, "excuse them?" I don't believe Christians demonize homosexuals. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

The idea- one that is now being called into question with trans ideology- that people are "born that way" is a slippery slope when you use "born that way" to condone behavior. You can see that in the recent push to rebrand pedophiles as MAPs. I think you would agree that whether or not a pedophile is "born that way" it is not at all unreasonable for society to demand he refrain from acting on his sexual urges.

Finally, my belief that the Bible is something other than the "Word of God" is immaterial. It's the wisdom of the ages that has been accepted and handed down for thousands of years.

I just find it hilarious that the most ardent trump supporters/voters who scream the loudest against the mainstream media (in favor of the nitwits on Twitter) are so riled up by the media reports in this area that seemingly rock them to their hollow cores.

Pick a lane hypocrites.

I gave up any hopes of a rational conversation with Link when he defended the CPS and their lack of accountability with union dues paying pedophiles.

You aren't making much sense. Neither is Jorr and Neither is Spaulding. Pushing "Big Lies" is sort of what Right Wing Hacks do around here so there is no surprise there.
The fact of the matter is that you had to lie about CPS pedophilia in an effort to find an equivalency for what has occurred in the Catholic Church. And I'm not one of the people here that runs around "yelling" that there are Catholic Priest pedophiles around every corner either. Thus I don't know why you are in such a need to further the myth that CPS is riddled with pedophiles. Or STEREOTYPE them either. Other than the fact that you just love to STEREOTYPE and lie to further the point if need be. Which is disgusting, even for a "dopey" message board.

That's only because you don't believe in salvation, forgiveness, and eternal life in heaven by grace thru faith in Christ like Christians and Catholics do. It's one of the things that distinguishes Christians from other major world religions, most have steps to be followed. It's offered to anyone who would like to receive it.

None of what is being said is a lie. It's not what you believe and you don't like it. If I were to go your route I could easily say I consider right wing hacks as a gender. That's not how I identify. You are misgendering me committing hate speech and violence against my person. That's not a cogent argument or way of having a discussion.

I am a bit out of my depth and don't believe that myself, but no more or less likely to go to hell than people that practice what the church considers other forms of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, rape, bestiality/incest, pornography etc. Again hateful behavior toward an individual or group aren't in accordance with scripture or the doctrines. People are to be treated with respect and dignity.

It's okay to hate and have contempt for Catholics and possibly Christian in general here though. That much is clear.

Your comparisons help prove my point even if they say you are going to hell with respect and dignity.

Hell is a choice Brick.

I'll leave the judgement of others to you and Link.

I guess "judgment of others" is best left to people who believe that homosexuals are "sick" and "evil" Aye Crest?

And since you are so concerned you might want to know that in CPS they would fire the hell out of anyone that claimed that homosexuals are mentally "sick" and "morally "evil". Try spewing that bullshit anywhere but a "dopey" message board and they will likely fire the person's bigoted ass, as they should.

Not only would they fire the person who spews such bigotry, but they'd also fire the clowns that "support" the clowns who spew such bigotry.
Hey BallPark and MoFo you'd better watch out!

That's only because you don't believe in salvation, forgiveness, and eternal life in heaven by grace thru faith in Christ like Christians and Catholics do. It's one of the things that distinguishes Christians from other major world religions, most have steps to be followed. It's offered to anyone who would like to receive it.

Where is the counterargument here?

So you agree with Spaulding’s implication that homosexuality and fornication are essentially equal sins to rape, incest and bestiality in Gods eyes? Interesting.
