the other side of peterson

I had a female friend from the early years of high school who always desperately wanted to live in sauganash. She eventually did in adulthood and was proudly telling people at some party. She said the location and I burst her bubble saying it was the wrong side of peterson. Now, I don't care either way and I'd happily move but I swear she made it her life's goal to eventually move north of peterson. I guess we all have strange things that are important to us that are some kind of landmark that we made something of ourselves.

Forest Glen is far less fashionable. There are some great houses in that neighborhood but you also get a decent amount of hillbillys who treat their property like an extension of the forest preserve. I'm talking about the area south of Peterson and east of Cicero. It actually has really great architectural diversity but the lots are smaller. I prefer that area in some ways. It's not like I live in one of the great houses of the neighborhood. I bought mine from one of my old teachers.

There are a lot of apartments on that stretch along Cicero.

A friend's father lived in that little house on Cicero just south of Forest Glen that is the last holdout with McMansions dwarfing it on either side. It was a nice little house in the 70s but now it looks like something that you'd find in Bensenville.
