You get 30 minutes of computer time a day for email/web surfing. You are given a 90s style cell phone that can only make and receive calls and play that brick breaking game in black and white.

I think I could try really hard and make it at least 3 days.

Forever. All of us could. It would be difficult initially, but then we would all adjust.

the last 20 or so years have deluded us into thinking wants are needs

You deserve to never be separated from your phone.

Given that I have a love hate relationship with cell phones I'd like to believe that in time it wouldn't be a problem. But as I sit here looking at a half empty bottle of Coca-Cola that I've been talking about quitting over a decade, I know that's not likely to be the case.

If I were you, I'd buy a new bottle -- those things go flat in a couple of days; I can't imagine what it tastes like after it has been open for 10+ years.

Nas is right, we'd adjust, and we'd tell our grandchildren tales about the heady days of Candy Crush.

I'm so old that I've never played the game.

I doubt that I've even played video games more than a half dozen times in the last 20-25 years. :eye:

Sometimes I wonder what would be better for me, drinking only water or not having a cell phone at all.

it would be amazing for people like me who refuse to online date and might actually run into a single 30 something female at a god damn bar.

Breaking news. Everybody dies. And I'd rather die tomorrow than drink only water. Honest to God, if SCIENCE! told people wearing a chastity belt would get them an extra 1000 breaths, people would line up to do it.

Everything dies baby that's a fact
Maybe everything that dies someday comes back

If it meant I could get paper tickets for concerts and baseball games, I'd be down. As long as I had access to a computer, I would give up the phone and adjust fairly easily with the exception of needing to be able to receive a call/text when my kid is in school.

It is crazy. Go for a 10 minute drive "around town", and take a look at how many cars you pass where it's 100% obvious people are looking at phones. Not even talking about people trying to be sneaky, or the quick glance at a red light. I mean the people driving down the street with their phone pinned against the steering wheel or in a holder on the dashboard.

They live inside those things. The rest of the world is just an inconvenient annoyance.
