Playing better soon as that cancer known as Jackie is out of the lineup . Shocking .

1 game out of 4 is a long way away form a sweep especially when Mr. Verlander is coming.

But definitely a good step.

You would think, but watch the Sox take 3 of 4 yet lose 8-1 tonight because baseball is goofy.

I'm not saying they are going to sweep if they win tonight, just that its likely that they sweep the Astros, Guardians and Orioles if they win tonight.

Cueto probably made himself another $30 million with his work this year, maybe more. Not bad for a guy signed post spring training.

As I posted last week, given all of the on paper talent the White Sox have, its amazing that a scrap heap guy has more or less saved the season and kept them in it to this point.

Let's just say I don't have much confidence in Giolito being able to shut down this Astros offense, especially when you couple that with the Sox defense. Maybe thats a slugfest game the Sox win.

Much like Cueto, he's a pitching pitcher who pitches. Maybe he doesn't get it figured out this year, but he'll get it figured out. He's going to figure himself into one more all star appearance and he's going to figure out how to keep his team in games. I've ripped Keuchel as much as anybody, but you have to admire his career success with one fucking pitch. Frank, you have to learn to appreciate guys who can get through shit with guile, rather than raw talent. It's why I give him a wider berth than a fuckface, say, Joe Kelly.

The "bright lights" comment really got to me. So I climbed the hill, and I'm staying there. I gotta little JORR in me.

I don't root against Giolito. With his stuff, he should be putting up 2019 like numbers on a yearly basis. Instead, he bulks up in the off season and get hurt on Opening Day anyway. I don't expect 30 quality starts, but over half a season with an ERA over 5.00 is not acceptable either. Cueto has a ring an 140 career wins. I don't think Giolito gets that when his career is all said and done. To me, Giolito is the guy you trade and get MLB talent back to fill other holes the Sox have.

Exactly. He's adequate. His stuff can be great. He should be dominant. He shouldn't be a guy that runs on cunning and guile. Cease and Giolito should be one of the best 1-2 punches in MLB. Maybe THE best since Johnson and Schilling. Instead there is often a fight at the batrack in the opposing dugout when Giolito starts.

I think Kopech will be the ace after this year. Solely because of the it factor. He embraces the challenge.

So Giolito is the 2022 version of Javier Vazquez....great.

I've posted before more than once that the perfect comp for Lucas is indeed Javy Vazquez. Great stuff and will win some games and get his strikeouts, but wildly inconsistent and unreliable.

I'm getting old, but it felt like Vazquez sucked or he was lights out. Giolito sucks or he's mostly meh.

Alright. We fundamentally disagree on his weapons. His 4 seamer blows, his curve has no command, it's his slider and two types of change ups that are his arsenal. Changeups being the hardest pitch to throw, it's going to be a hit and miss on a particular day. His entire success is built on a changeup.
