No, apparently it is something they are the first to try put. It can simulate other quarterbacks and the way they throw for defenses or your qbs for your recivers.

They don't trust Love to be accurate enough to run the scout team? Why do they draft bad balck quarterbacks early in the draft

Kirk Cousins literally sprinted down field to celebrate a second team Ty Chandler TD.. I never saw this kind of thing during the Zimmer era.. this is Cousins team and he’s the franchise QB

I'm not a huge fan, but I will take him over what the Bears and Lions have.

This bit is as tired as GD's bit with Amos.

If you believe Kizer and Love are good quarterbacks, who am I to argue with you? I sincerely hope the Packers feel the same way you do about [Redacted] Love.

True and if he were an NBA player, they'd say he gets a lot of garbage time stats.

Zimmer wasn't holding Cousins back its his own bizarre personality. He's like Christian Bale in The Big Short. I think he's so awkward he's incapable of building a relationship with his teammates. He's not a guy that can rally a team. The Kyle Rudolph situation was telling...thanks 30 guys in farewell but doesn't mention Cousins.

As awkward as Cousins is, he's still the 2nd best QB in the North and the Vikings back-up's are truly awful.

Fallers
Kellen Mond, quarterback
Kellen Mond’s first drive ended in an interception and so did his last. It would be one thing if either of Mond’s interceptions were impressive plays from opposing defenders, closing down on a pass from 20 yards out, but it’s quite another thing that they were both directly to their respective defenders – one that could have been a pick-six with a slightly better return and the other that iced the game down 10 points with 2:38 remaining. Mond finished with a passer rating of 21.3 and threw for 4.1 yards per passing attempt.

O’Connell was about as frank as he’s ever been in assessing Mond’s performance. “He’s moving the team on that first drive of the night, we get into a third down there in their half of the 50, chance at maybe getting some points, and the pocket kind of collapses on him,” he said. “That’s playing in the NFL. Can you be compact? Can you find a way to get that ball thrown to the open receiver without your arm getting tipped?

“I’ll go back and see kind of what happened, protection-wise,” he added, “but ultimately, I just think that’s playing in this league. We’re in kind of that fringe field goal range, can we secure points, can we be safe with that ball? And then the last interception, I think he just lost track of where that post safety was and tried to press to make that play that we were trying to make all night.”

Things don’t look great when it comes to finding a backup for Kirk Cousins. “You would love to have come out of tonight feeling like, ‘Shoot, they both moved the team and scored a lot of points, and we’ve got a heck of a hard discussion and conversation ahead as a staff and as an organization.’,” said O’Connell.

“Although we didn’t do that, I still think there’s some real teachable moments, and then some real moments where we’re able to evaluate and really look at where we are at that position, as we re-stack everything to go into this week, to see how we need to allow those guys to compete.”

It was bleak. Sean Mannion was the better of the two quarterbacks but that doesn’t feel like saying much. Instead, the Vikings might do better looking outside of their roster for this season’s backup.

I watched their last preseason game. For the first few plays or so, I thought Mond looked good. I was going to come here and talk about a quarterback controversy. Then he threw a Love like interception on the next play.

Deflected off his receiver?

 No, right into the hands of the 49ers defender.

I like the Mullens trade. Cut Mannion and put Mond on the practice squad. Mond looks overmatched, but give him a season with this coaching staff and see where he is next training camp.

I wouldn't be happy with my 3rd round QB on the practice squad, if you are drafting a QB there he should at least be able to lock down the backup role.

True, but it is what is. I'd rather have the Vikings admit reality than shoehorn a player into a spot because of where he was drafted.

I imagine some team to sign him off the practice squad.

SKOR North
@SKORNorth
DISRESPECT: The Minnesota #Vikings check in at No. 23 on ESPN's preseason power rankings. #SKOL

The Vikings are behind: The Steelers, Commanders, Saints and Dolphins...

I'm ok with this. Prove people wrong.

Zim hated kickers almost as much as 3rd string QBs.

Prepare yourself for 10+ INTs from Kirk Cousins in 2022.. also prepare yourself for 40+ TDs from Kirk Cousins in 2022 #Skol

From Peter King. Mooney might be the 4th WR on the Vikings if he made the team at all.

7. One of my favorite players to emerge this year is Vikings WR K.J. Osborn. (And not because he was born on my 40th birthday, June 10, 1997.) New coach Kevin O’Connell loves Osborn’s route-running and ability to get deep and O’Connell plans to feature all three of his receiving threats. I could see Osborn getting 100 targets out of O’Connell’s scheme that will feature a majority of three-wide sets.

This says more about Kirk Cousin's mediocrity.

The comment about Mooney was mine, not King's...I should be clear. Mooney is like the leading scorer on the worst NBA team...someone has to be.

Two things I heard on Vikings podcasts:

The Vikings are like the bride who handles all the wedding planning and asks the groom to do nothing but show up on time and not shit himself. Cousins is the groom and there's a smell.

Cousins is the lookout on the Titanic that gets drunk and passes out. Then after they hit the iceberg he jumps in a lifeboat and paddles away.

Cousins can put up numbers but the intangibles are sub-level IMO. I don't buy the Zim was holding him back as a leader narrative. Zim being a lunatic with limited tools in his toolbox to relate to players and Cousins being a weirdo I think they mostly avoided each other.
