Me too. Not shelling out for the poor Marquee product makes it easier.

Does anyone remember circa late 60's early 70's, an Andy Frain usher in the background on a metal folding chair on the WGN broadcast?

Have not watched one game this year. Refuse to pay extra for Marquee and the AAA Cubs.

Come back to Cubs Radio! Pat Hughes broadcast in the 1970's, and has changed little. Ron Coomer, while not nearly the player, is a better color guy than Ron Santo was, if not as good a homer. The team is as bad as the lovable losers, but it's radio. You can still be grilling burgers or mowing the lawn during the game!

Pat and Ron are fun. But the broadcast is littered with in inning commercials and sponsorships. Almost everything that can happen in a game is sponsored by someone. The full broadcast is close to unlistenable. The Score ruined Cubs radio with all the sponsorships.

I listen to other radio broadcasts with the MLB app, and the Cubs are the only ones doing this.

ZZ is so fucking bad that it is embarrassment to Pat to even be in the same booth as him. I had the game on for his amazing home run call on the nelson Velasquez fly out today. He was balls deep in his home run call....then paused for a good 3 seconds and said the wind knocked it down. He is just awful. He is absolutely the token nerd broadcaster opposite Uek in the major league movies.

I’m on year 2 of no Cubs. I would have to get the MLB package to watch, which I have done in the past.

With any amount of planning, they probably could have had Wayne Randazzo before he took the same role with the Mets (and now is Howie Rose's partner and the lead when Howie is out).

If either Pat or Ron is missing from the radio booth, I won't listen. I will put on the other team's broadcast since I have a SiriusXM subscription. A couple of weeks ago, I enjoyed the Marlins radio guy, Glenn Geffner, who went to Medill and had spent a lot of time at Wrigley during his time there.

Same goes for TV - if Dempster is there, I'm watching the other team's broadcast on my MLB broadcast.

Pat is 67 and it is clear that after his health scare he is steadily cutting back a few more games each year. (He should skip the annual trip to DC because he hates the press box there above the upper deck.( Add in some games off for Coomer, and it's likely that the Cubs need someone better than Zack to do 45 full games a year pretty soon, and maybe fill in on Marquee here and there as well.
