Zeal of the convert. No one patrols who's really from Chicago more than someone who's really from Hoffman Estates.

Funny enough, my friend Alex who was born in Russia and a Cardinals fans owing to his Mizzou education, pulled that crap on me. He lived off Waveland and gave me shit for telling people I am from Chicago.

And I am actually from Hoffman Estates as I grew up in a house that backed up to Rte 72 (remember me posting the article tot drives car?) Spent fifth grade on in the Mecca. Conant is also in H.E.

I can't speak for all Chicagoans, but if you thumb your nose at Chicago when you're home, don't use us for pussy or street cred when you're away.

Chicago is one of my top five American cities and in many ways my favorite. I believe I have largely spoke favorably of Chicago on this board.

The trajectory of the state is a big concern to me. The federal covid money and economic boom in tax collections has granted the long term fiscal issues a nice reprieve. The hefty tax burden and long term prospects continue to put Illinois in the negative relative category.

I wasn't specifically talking about you. I was kind of responding to CH's post through yours.

Curious isn't even from Illinois. He should feel obligated to tell people he's from Milwaukee.

Why?

Good waterslide. Met Muggsy Bogues

You can find a waterslide and a vertically challenged person anywhere. Nearly everyone I know who stayed at Atlantis did so just to say they stayed there. I'm not saying you should be adventurous enough to roam the streets when the armed guards/officers aren't out at night, but the Bahamas is so much more than Atlantis.

I agree. I didn't want to go. Just giving the highlights. I offered to buy the li'l fucker a beer and he said no. I guess there's other islands where you can rent a shack and just smoke ganja all day and wait for the water shipment to come in.

Indeed. That is a portion of his post.

are the Bahamas really not safe to walk around?

I thought they were the Caribbean equivalent of Canada, nice people and safe, like US Light

The times I've been there (Nassau, Freeport) I have felt perfectly safe. I may have missed the attraction but all i recall seeing were touristy bars and t-shirt shops so I have no need to ever return.

Very happy to be done with the whole vacationing with children experience is behind me.

Actually enjoy going to the Dells for a little gambling and having a few cows on tap at the local watering holes we have found over the years.

If you want to eat and drink yourself into oblivion you can definitely find that at any one of the numerous Cancun all inclusive joints, but would not want to have the responsibility of paying attention to kids swimming in the ocean after reaching comfortably numb status.
