Yeah I was never much of a fan of it. I own it on DVD and I’ve never watched it after seeing it in theatres.

But it feels more close to “300” to me, without the self-indulgent slow mo.

My mother in law was an insane fan of it and we all git a dvd of it one Christmas. its a good opening scene but yeah, beyond that not one that has seen a lot of play here.

I'm not liking the Gladiator hate here. It's a great movie. I hope this movie is as awesome and historically inaccurate as that one.

The main character is a fictionalized version of a woman mentioned in the journal of a Dutch slave trader. He went on one of their slave raids and she had the leader of the village brought to her bound in a basket with only his head sticking out. After 3 swings she gave up and took his head off by using her sword as a saw. I'm sure the movie version is lopping off heads 2 and 3 at a time.

I just found out what this movie was about yesterday...when I saw The Woman King I assumed it was the Black Panther sequel. I'd heard a woman was taking over the role...
