The Bears cap situation wasn't so precarious that couldn't add ANY offensive to the roster. And he 100% botched the Foles situation, which makes you question his attention to detail.

I don't believe in tanking baseball and I sure as shit don't believe in tanking in football....it's bullshit that we have to wait a year to upgrade this roster.

I don't really disagree.

But who has posted that Poles is the next Polian and will build a dynasty here?

We've got a few big "Poles" fans here, I won't name names.

 Because you can't?

I could be wrong, I just don't remember seeing anybody offer that high praise of Poles so far. So if you're not going to name names, I'll just take your Polian comment to mean it never happened and you're full of shit. Just like Jorr's Big Ten heart issue claim.

I don't really seeing any of them saying that Poles = Polian or that he was going to build a dynasty here. Not even in the meatballiest of Nas posts do I remember reading such praise.

Does appear that Poles has been given approval to do a complete remodel, tear out the drywall, rip out the floor, take it all the way down to the studs. This year we see the torn down product, it seems they have already made a call on Fields, he is either the new floor, or he is in the process of being cut up and torn out by the tear down crew.

It is also likely quite terrifying for a QB to take the snap and see your C, RT, and LT quickly get shoved back into your lap before you can get to your drop. Then again, if they thought Fields was the guy they likely would have upgraded significantly at C, it all makes one sense that they know he is not the guy and are just treading water until they can upgrade or reset with another first round QB.

It doesn't make any sense at all to keep him around if you know he's not the guy. Cut losses by extracting as much value as you can from him in a trade. That should have been done this off-season. Miami, Jacksonville and Philly did it the right way: invest in a supporting cast to accelerate the development of the young QB. Poles is doing it the ass backward way.

I'm sure the Bears could have signed some veteran wide receivers to one year deals to give Fields some respectable options to throw to. How do you develop a QB with 11 passes? Typical Bears.

Landry should have been signed

Guys who sign 1 year deals have a choice. They are going to the organization that gives them the best chance to sign a multi-year contract.

Good receivers that take one year deals usually do so they can cash in with a longer contract after putting up good numbers. Good receivers probably didn’t see that opportunity here. Why would they want to sign here and catch 40 passes for 500 yards and 2 touchdowns and be poised for a shittier contract. Any receiver that would have taken a 1 year deal here would probably have been garbage.

100%

Even decent vets not as concerned about that next deal would probably rather take less money to go somewhere they throw the ball a bit and also don’t suck.

Our receivers may suck, but they wouldn't look as bad if Siemian were starting instead of Fields. Siemian is an average or worse backup, but he's still significantly better than Fields right now.

Wrong.

He was absolute trash last year and didn't do anything well. He should be getting ready for a career in coaching. He now has zero tools to play football, not that he ever really did.

I agree that Siemian is really bad. Unfortunately, Fields is even worse right now.

Siemian can deliver the ball on time within the constraints of Getsy's system. Fields cannot currently do that, and it's unknown if he will ever develop that skill.

The next few games against ordinary teams should prove illuminating with regards to Fields' capabilities and Getsy's opinion of him.

It should be noted that, based on the first two games of the season, Getsy is either the worst playcalller in the NFL or he has absolutely no faith in Fields.

At this point you have to wonder if Fields is mentally retarded, throw the damn ball!

In addition to the deep ball miss to ESB, he's got a receiver in the flat for a 8 yard gain and an easy pass to Kmet for a 6 yard drop.

Maybe thats the reason they only let him throw 11 times a game.

That couldn't be it. *Checks notes* He doesn't have time to throw. The receivers aren't open. The offensive line sucks. The receivers suck. The scheme doesn't fit him. Poles wants him to fail. The running game isn't working. Uno took a shit on his bed.
