I had the IA game as a "need to be careful" revenge type game on the wolverine schedule. I'm more worried about maryland than Iowa at this point.

it just feels like all facets of the offense is bad. line is bad, running game is bad, petras is bad, wr's are injured/bad.

Petras isn't even giving his guys a chance at catching the ball though.

I have the black and gold glasses on but the issues stem from a poor scheme and lacking playmakers. The running backs show some ability but when teams are stacking 8/9/10 in the box, it's really hard to get more than 1 or 2 yards. Lacking a quarterback who can actually hit open receivers - I'd key run too and go after them.

AND Kirk just doubled down and said 7 starts this week. I expect a bunch of players to transfer out after this year. Their top wideout is out hurt but I am thinking some of it is blue flu and he is going to redshirt and transfer out.

What is his name? I can add him to my projections for our two deeps next year.

Based on the offense, I fear pretty much everyone else on the schedule outside of this weekend.

This decision to start Petras smells of 'if he's good this week, see everyone!' or if he is bad, they can make the move. If Padilla was the answer, they would have made the change I hope.

I watched Padilla last yeaer v. Illinois....he was better than what we've seen from Petras, but far from "good". I don't think he's the answer and as you said....if they though he was the answer, the change would have been made already.

Brian Ferentz is still pending a trial and / or settlement for a racial discrimination suit. I don't know anything about that case, but I'm sure it's a factor in some way. They should have had that settled prior to the start of the season.

The answer is probably one of the younger QB's but Kirk has said it takes at least a year for the QBs to learn the offense. What offense takes a year to learn? Certainly not OSU, Clemson, etc where freshman have stepped in and performed in the past.

They did what you would expect a 24 point favorite to do. helped having the scholarship receivers available but still - Nevada is awful.

The yearly battle of the punters will take place at Rutgers this weekend when Iowa comes to town.

Too bad. One of my favorite coaches, but the offense is just depressing to watch. Not painful, but depressing, like watching a parolee commit a crime a day after being released from jail. Same plays, no hope of making any progress.
